To say our small community lost an important part of our medical (and veterinary) world would be an understatement. I have known Chuck since I moved back into our area in 1993. I know we all hear the stories of how much he cared about people, and would go out of his way to help anyone. Many of us in the animal world will tell you that his dedication to making people's lives better pales in comparison to his love and commitment to the well being of animals. As part of the Morrison's Drug Store family, Chuck was always my go-to pharmacy connection when I had patients with special needs, including expensive medications. It only took one quick phone call to Chuck and he was on it! He would drop what he was doing and get what we needed asap. Most importantly, if Chuck knew any of our local pet owners were having financial concerns, he would do what it took to make it possible for them. I know Chuck made countless pet owners grateful to have a person care so much about our local pets. We have all read the statement by Gandhi "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated". Chuck Dix was one individual that lived this every day of his life. I will be forever grateful for the time I knew Chuck. He left a positive mark on our community. My wife Diane and I, along with the Staff at Northern Veterinary Associates, send our thoughts and prayers to Susan, Donna and the rest of the extended Dix family.
