🆘WE NEED DONATIONS🆘
WE ARE MOSTLY IN NEED OF:
•Yesterday’s News
•Royal Canin Mother & Babycat ultra soft mousse in sauce wet food
•Breeder’s Edge Foster care Feline Milk Replacement.
If you’re able to donate that would help us out tremendously. Kitten Season is here and these three little bottle babies pictured down below lost their Mommy when she got hit by a car. It is just the beginning and we would be so grateful.

Meet Fritz (M) he’s a 2 year old 11lb Yorkshire terrier. Fritz may not look like a Yorkie in this pic that’s because he had a rough start to his young life. Fritz was living homeless in a car with his owner and couldn’t afford to feed him anymore and had to give him up. This was a sad situation for both owner and dog. Fritz had to be shaved because his hair was severely matted to his skin. Now Fritz is safe and sound living in Foster care warm and cozy eating well and just being a dog. You would never know that Fritz was living in a car he is such a well rounded dog. Fritz is potty trained runs to the door to let you know he has to go. He’s crate trained and sleeps through the night. He’s a great eater. He’s good with other cats and dogs. Walks well on a leash loves to be outside and play with the ball. Likes to dress up in sweaters. He loves to cuddle on your lap. He also has some skills where he gets up on his hind legs and dances and he has the funniest smile also. This dog would be perfect in any household to one lucky family or person.
Fritz is utd on vaccinations rabies and is neutered. If you are interested in this very handsome boy please fill out an online dog application on our website at www.longbeachhumanesociety.net

Meet Butter a 4 year old Female
Terrier mix.
Butter came from a high kill shelter with her 6 beautiful puppies and is an exceptional Mama to her babies. Butter is an extremely sweet affectionate all-around great girl. She is well behaved listens well and is great on a leash. She is so appreciative for being rescued all she wants to do is to please. Bigger dogs frighten her and she likes to chase cats. So a home with a smaller dog/no cats/or just with her family is best. She tested negative for heart worm and is house trained. So now it’s Butter’s turn to be taken care of to feel safe and loved. Let’s find this girl a home to call her own. ❤️🐶

Here’s Lulu (F) our CH kitten (Cerabellar Hyperplasia) she is a special needs kitten. Lulu is a a Russian blue mix approximately 4 months old snap tested & utd on vaccinations. She is a bundle of energy as you can see loves to play and is extremely friendly.
Lulu & her sister Shirley are getting bigger and stronger every day.
They are eating normally using the litter box and playing like normal kittens. Each day it’s amazing to see how they continue to make progress and get stronger. Lulu and Shirley are happy little kitties full of life love and lots of fun. We are so happy that they have each other. Our ultimate goal for them is to get a permanent home with someone who is experienced with CH kittens or cats. We want someone who works from home so they can be supervised when roaming about we also want someone who lives in a one floor home and has area rugs. There are slight adjustments to be made when having a CH kittens and we would be happy to help with any ideas or modifications.
So if you’re interested in these special needs babies please do an online application on our website at www.longbeachhumanesociety.net or call us for more information at LBHS Kitty Cove at:516-594-1721.

CH KITTENS EATING LIKE CHAMPS
I want you all to meet Lulu (F) a Russian blue mix kitten and her sister Shirley (F) a black kitten. They’re approximately 10 weeks old and utd on vaccinations. These kitten siblings have special needs. They have Cerabellar Hypoplasia (CH for short) or Wobbly Cat Syndrome. CH is a neurological disorder and a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls the motor skills balance and coordination. The condition is NOT painful or contagious!!! It most commonly occurs when a pregnant cat becomes infected with feline Panleukopenia virus (distemper) and then passes the infection to her unborn kittens. It does however effect kittens in varying degrees. There is no treatment but it’s a non progressive disorder that will not worsen over time. Kittens at a very young age appear to make dramatic improvements as they mature primarily due to them developing their muscles and stamina from learning and adjusting. Kittens/Cats with this disorder may require a little more extra care but over time they learn to cope and adapt with their condition and are likely to live full and happy lives.
