FINDING TALLY: We need your help bringing Tally back to safety and those who love her. She broke off the leash while on a walk with her adopter over two weeks ago and has been sighted many times from Berkeley Hall to Pinckney Colony. She appears to be spending most of her time by the daffodil farm (Calhoun Plantation Drive area). She is extremely shy, but NOT aggressive. She is unlikely to come to you, so if you see her the best-case scenario would be to contain her in a fenced area, garage, stable, outbuilding, etc. Please text 843-227-2691 if you see her as we are prepared to set up a humane trap. She has lots of places to bed down during the tropical storm, but we sure would like to bring her home as soon as possible.

Ok friends, let’s work some FB magic today and save two lives! Veterinary office just called with two dogs brought in to be put down as a last resort because they are unable to keep them. Of course my vet does not put down healthy sweet dogs for no reason. One is a Chihuahua mix and the other hound mix and they seem to be very very sweet. (The lady‘s son died last year (they were his dogs)and then her husband this year and she is having to go move in with her elderly father to care for him and cannot bring the dogs

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ!
If you are not an EXPERIENCED wildlife rehabber- you have ZERO business taking any wild animal into your home or “rescuing” it!!
Do not touch any baby animal in nature!! Leave it where it is and call a wildlife expert. Reach out on Facebook and someone will put you in touch with the right person!

Apparently our repeated messages still aren't hitting home for people. Maybe this will...

Last night at 10:30pm, we received a call about TWIN fawns that the finders had brought home and had been "caring for" for 3 days. THREE DAYS. They separated the twins and one person was taking care of one, and someone else taking care of the other, which in of itself is a big no-no.

They sent photos of the fawns sitting on the couch, wrapped in blankets, hanging out next to the humans. We explained the criticality of getting them into care and gave them the name of a rehabber just under an hour away to get them into that would take them last night. But they said "I need someone to pick them up, I can't take them there". We pleaded that these animals needed help asap and that what they were doing was harming these babies. They were adamant they couldn't bring them in and someone would need to pick up. We arranged for someone to drive there this morning and pickup the fawns.

They texted us this morning to tell us the fawns "aren't doing well". The transporter arrived and one baby cannot even stand. They both have bloody stool and will likely die by the end of the day. All because people think it's cute to keep a fawn. People bring them into their homes and treat them like pets for a few days and then call us when they crash. Our transporters & rehabbers are the ones who have to struggle so hard to save their lives and then watch them die in their arms. The fact the people who took them won't even drive them to someone for help after the harm they caused is the icing on the cake.

Let me say it louder for the people in the back.
STOP ABDUCTING FAWNS. THEY LIVE OUTSIDE.

You don't know what to feed this animal, how much to feed it, how often to feed it. Does it need IV fluids or does it need milk? YOU CAN PASS ILLNESSES TO THE FAWN. Having them in your house with your pets and your kids can make the animals sick. So many things can go wrong. DO NOT PICK UP A FAWN AND TAKE IT HOME WITH YOU. If you have found a fawn you think needs help, reach out to a licensed rehabber IMMEDIATELY and wait for instructions BEFORE intervening. And if it does actually need help, be prepared to get it to a rehabber immediately. Don't wait on us to find transport for you and don't take it home for selfies and a snack. If you really want to help that animal, then help that animal by getting it into someone who knows how to take care of it from the very beginning. We are sick of watching these animals die.

It's ironic that people tell us "I don't want it to die in the wild" when they usually die after being taken care of in someone's home who wasn't qualified. The "wild" isn't the problem, the people are.

It is ILLEGAL to raise wildlife in the state of Georgia without a rehab license.

Maybe if we make these posts every single day with a photo of the ones we lose, people will actually start paying attention.

It’s been a year and 2 months since I pulled up on a feral pup clinging to his dead deer friend. Scared and alone he was quite a challenge to catch. But with the help of my trusted alpha girl Callie, he was finally caught! After the best foster family ever(!), he is now a wonderful boy back with us and a great family member. I think it’s time to find his forever home…
Sunny loves walks and is great with a confident dog sibling. No issue with cats at all. He does require lots of love and kindness. This is a truly special boy! Only the best for him and it will have to be the perfect fit.
Reach out if you are seriously interested and we can go from there. Before and after pics:

Our Mission

Grace Farm Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, a 501c3 charitable organization, is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming, or providing sanctuary for, abandoned, abused, neglected or unwanted animals of all kinds. We also provide a place for children and adults to come and interact with and learn about these animals, while teaching them how to care for them and experiencing the joy and love these creatures give. We encourage and welcome people with special needs, youth groups, and our US Veterans to spend time experiencing the healing power of equine therapy, the joy of petting a pig belly, or just playing ball with the dogs.

Our mission is to rescue, assist, and educate.

We work with our surrounding underfunded county animal agencies as a resource as well, providing shelter and/ or assistance for animals in emergency situations.

Grace Farm is solely funded by public donations. All monies go directly to care of animals. There are no paid employees.
