We are a non-profit rescue cat organization located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Our program TVAR (Trap, Vaccinate, Alter, Return) is set up for the feral and stray cats in our community including Isle of Palm, SC.In addition to our TVAR program, we have dedicated caretakers for our various cat colonies in Mt. They provivde daily feedings and homemade outdoor shelters to keep the cats out of

the elements. Managing these cat colonies gives our community cats better and longer lives. Currently FCH cares for 50+ outdoor colony cats on a daily basis.

Augie, formerly Mr. Marmalade was an abandoned kitty who's owner moved & left him behind. FCH took him in & he's since been adopted to his new forever home where he has another kitty friend. This sweet boy is now getting the love he deserves😻

Yesterday I went by to visit Thor @ his new home since being adopted in January. He's such a happy boy & I loved watching him showoff that happiness. Thor was a kitten when I 'pulled' him from a shelter, he had been found alone in Pawleys Island. Before long I started to suspect FIP, had bloodwork done & he was positive for it. Thanks to FIP Warriors ( I had previously treated 2 other cats w/FIP) & a generous sponsor Thor was able to have the 3 mos treatments. He would have been euthanized (as many have & will be) had he stayed @ the shelter. Today he's 2yrs old & I'm so proud of him & my team that saw him thru the bad days. FIP is a Coronavirus & the FDA recently approved the drug for use in cats in US. Please reach out if you suspect your kitty has it & I'll help guide you to a successful outcome, like Thors😺

Her students wrote a letter to her husband on her behalf so she could adopt Percy, & it worked🩷 Percy melted in his new Mom's arms. I'm so happy for this special kitty, as a young kitten he & his 2 siblings were found alone in a crawlspace the mama cat had been hit by a car & they were without food for days. ANNOUNCEMENT..Our Town Center Adoption Center Kit-Cats will be closed for business after today. Feral Cat Helpers will continue our mission as it has for the past 10 yrs but the high cost to lease a brick & mortar space has become a burden, we will continue our adoption program & vaccine clinic thru social media & pop-up events locally. Stay tuned as we navigate thru & prepare for the upcoming Kitten Season. Thor who was diagnosed with FIP 3 mos ago, had his last oral treatment today. Just look @ this happy, healthy boy now. FIP is a deadly form of Coronavirus in cats. Thor is the 3rd cat FCH has successfully treated for fip. Please read up on it & why Veterinarians can't get the necessary drugs to treat it & as a result euthanasia is the option they give owners. Thor is a sweet, sweet boy 8 mos young & available to adopt @ KitCats. [email protected]

Our Story

We are a 501 c-3 non-profit cat rescue organization located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Our program TVAR (Trap, Vaccinate, Alter + Return) is set up for the feral and stray cats in our community East of the Cooper..founded in 2016 we’ve TVAR’d over 300 un-neutered/spayed cats, thus reducing the number of litters being born to free roaming cats. In addition to our TVAR program, we have dedicated caretakers for our various cat colonies in Mt. Pleasant. They provivde daily feedings and homemade outdoor shelters to keep the cats out of the elements. Managing these cat colonies gives our community cats better and longer lives. Currently FCH cares for 50+ outdoor colony cats on a daily basis. We also provide cat food to local seniors on limited incomes so that they can continue to feed the community cats in their neighborhood. Feral Cat Helpers joined Petsmart as an Adoption Partner in May of 2018, todate we’ve adopted out over 120 cats + kittens. 30+ of those cats were deemed un-adoptable by the local Animal Society. We proved them wrong and all of those cats are living healthy lives as indoor cats with their new families. Finding good homes for all cats no matter their age, color or quirks is important to us. From ‘Hopeless to a Home’ is our belief. We are an adovocate for helping to re-home cats of all ages for cat owners who are unable to keep their pet for unforseen reasons.
