I always make sure to keep a close watch on my sheltie, MacDuff, when it's hot outside. Our walks are shorter and we stick to the shade. If I notice his tongue hanging out, I make sure to give him some fresh, cool water. And if needed, we take a little break before we keep going. Gotta keep my furry friend safe and happy!

Huk, a newbie, playing with my 5 month old foster dog Jack. Huk needed some time to get used to Jack's enthusiasm.

Rocky relishes gnawing on a bone.

This is how comfortable a scared and nervous dog transforms within a few hours at my house.

Sometimes people ask me what I do with the dogs I am watching. I play inside and outside with them. I hang out with them on my couch. I have toys and lick mats to keep them busy. They receive lots of pets, scratches, and hugs. This is a home environment. I probably give them more attention than most people give their dogs because I love them so much. In the video is Coco. He enters my house so frightened, but soon after his owner leaves, he shows signs of being comfortable. He depends on me to keep him safe. When we play outside, he relaxes. This happens with all of the scared dogs. Dog Parents, don't fret. Your pup is fine being away from home when he is with me.

Sassy running with Sandy, my foster dog. Sandy kept a lot of dogs busy while they were here. A tired dog is a good dog. 😄
