Moving and Storage Center of Long Island top 10 MOVING TIPS - Please share!

1. Pack items you will need immediately, in a clear, plastic bin
2. Clearly label all boxes with the room they belong in, and the contents
3. Clearly label any "Fragile"items
4. Have someone watch your children/pets, the day of the move.
5. Take items of importance with you in your car, for example jewelry, important documents, cash, etc.
6. Make sure everything is packed prior to the movers' arrival.
7. Purge any items you no longer want or need.
8. Move your cars so that the moving van can get as close to your house as possible.
9. Do not pack heavy items in large boxes.
10. Start packing early. If you start a month before your move, and pack two or three boxes per day, you will have packed 60-90 boxes, by the time you move.
