Our rainy day workshop came and went without a single photo! But I’ll tell you what, I had a blast working with some awesome pups and their humans in the rain learning how to give each on the outlet they need to be happy each day, how to read body language and how to work with a reactive dog.
Now we are all dried off, fed and ready to nap!

Black dogs do something a little different to your heart. 🖤🖤🖤

Why are foundations important?? Here it is! One amazing example. His owner has been on her game with basic obedience, like Sit. So I ask Riley to “sit” which means SIT until I say his release word. And this allows us to begin some threshold training. 🐾🩵 If he didn’t have a decent foundation in this area, it would have made this process take much longer. Instead I worked with him for 2 ten minute rounds and he began to understand the threshold of the door. 🐾🩵 This foundation also helps because if he breaks his sit, and I add pressure he knows that he needs to go back into his sit- if the foundation wasn’t there, he would y know what to do next so I’d have to redirect him and hold slightly more pressure on him to achieve the behavior we need. 🐾🩵 This may look like a fancy trick.. but it’s really teaching this 7 month old a potentially life saving behavior.
