Flying Dollar Ranch offers horse boarding, riding lessons and summer riding camps. We are very active in local horse clubs and shows.

I am back home from State 4-H Horse Show and enjoying an Epsom salt bath after 8 days in a rv shower...I will send out camp emails tomorrow. Horsemanship Camp is Wednesday-Saturday. Horse drop off Tuesday night or Wednesday 8 am. No regular scheduled lessons this week. New customers wanting to get on fall schedule I will coordinate with you the second week of August I promise! I have to survive one more week of summer peak season first! Don't give up on me returning calls and messages!

Horse camp number 1 starts tomorrow! So many hours of work go into just the prep work for camp. A big thank you to the hubby for prepping the trails. They had gotten quite wild after the rainy season and Chambers Creek getting wider and wider.

Want a smooth trail ride and lead the pack? Check out this fun mare! Annie is a Rocky Mountain (gaited for those that dont know), registered, 17-year-old mare up for discussion. She is up to date on farrier, dental, shots and coggins. She is super sweet and gentle and safe for all. She has been ridden extensively on trails as well as arena work. She has also produced a few foals. Her only faults are that she can be hard to catch without a treat in your hand and can sometimes be strong and quick heading back to the barn. Videos in the comments! Her tack is also for sale as owner is getting completely out of horses. 3🥕🥕🥕

Congratulations to our Flying Dollar Ranch riders on their year-end awards at the Johson County 4-H Open Horse Show Series!
Hannah Sipes and Ruby won overall in the senior division, as well as western high point, and a $1000 scholarship! Allie Howard and Hotrod won overall in the junior division, as well as high point ranch, and a $250 scholarship! Phoebe Blain and Stanley won high point western in the junior division! And Leighton Walker and Sampson won high point western in the novice division.

Flying Dollar Ranch is proud to host 4-H events throughout the year and serve as the headquarters for the Silver Spurs 4-H Club of Ellis County. Step one, and just the first of several thousand dollars steps to make summer hay - spraying the hay field with preemergent by drone because it's in a flood plain and too wet to drive across with a tractor in some areas.

Just one of the reasons I installed a camera in the barn😆 Actually I'm pretty proud of him for not getting into feed. Annoying others is much more enjoyable. And then when I showed up he just licked his lips and said, " Hey Julz," which is why Sampson will always be one of my favorites. I've always been a sucker for a bad boy!

I spent most of the day riding and teaching in the rain- hurray! But Kissen didn't think I needed to stop and check the radar.

Aiden kept us all entertained during camp!

Our Story

A gorgeous Kentucky-style barn, on 115 acres - the perfect place to board your horse or take riding lessons! CHA certified riding instructor and World Champion trainer Julie Hinz teaches beginning to advanced lessons in both English (hunters), halter, and Western (show and trail) disciplines. We are very active in local horse clubs and shows. Headquarters and leaders for the Ellis County Silver Spurs 4-H Club, and leaders in the Ellis County Equine Association. We train our students to be able to trail ride, horse show, and enjoy a lifetime hobby with horses.

Boarding choices include a stall with turnout, private paddocks and group pasture. We feed twice a day which includes ample coastal hay that we grow ourselves. We have an outdoor, lighted riding arena with cushion sand footing, a round pen, a tree covered open riding area in front, and a long, tree covered trail for riding along Chambers Creek.
