"Amanda David, a Black herbalist, educator, and founder and primary land steward of Rootwork Herbals, the People’s Medicine School, and the Jane Minor BIPOC Medicine Garden, needs our financial support to relocate to a safer and more supportive environment in the face of relentless racial harassment and threats from her neighbor, since moving to her property in southeast Ithaca in 2020.

This ongoing hostility has not only endangered her family but also disrupted the vital work of Rootwork Herbals, which is dedicated to providing herbal medicine education and access to Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC). The People’s Medicine School was established to create a nurturing space where BIPOC individuals could connect, learn, and grow both food and medicinal plants."

🥬 We can’t believe that an incredible season has come and gone so quickly! Last week was the last box!
🚺 Huge shout out, in gratitude and all the things to our dedicated, supportive team and farm family members Ed, Dee, Molly, Rose, Kylie, and Linda - Our core is strong!
❤️ And most importantly to you our CSA customers we are so grateful to you and for you - working with you and receiving constructive feedback and affirmation and appreciation- all of it was a joy and a blessing.
💦 When our back fields flooded with water and the poor air quality hit our farmers lungs you stood by us and we thank you!
⛺️ We had you come through with summer campers, friends, and CSA members not just for boxes but on the occasional days when we were able, we had lots of you experience the deliciousness that is organically produced food- or just take a walk on the farm or in the woods!
💍 One memorable highlight was the expansion of our family with Lillian and Jack’s wedding and an incredible farm to table wedding rehearsal dinner for them.
🍍And the bounty of the you-plant-you-pick beds - dahlias; sunflowers, thyme, rosemary, mint, lavender, kale, collards, cabbages, chard, lettuce, radicchio, nasturtium, berries, roses, tomatoes and the crazy things we started just for fun: pineapples (we’re moving them indoors for the winter).
✨ Which takes us back to the end of a wonderful season, we are officially finished with CSA delivery and pick up for the season. Now there’s the opportunity to see us at farmers’ market at booth 78 for just a few more weeks - CSA family will receive deep discounts if purchasing.
✅ For the few remaining weeks we are also happy to send a fresh list if you’d like to purchase for delivery on Wednesdays ONLY. Simply respond to this email and let us know ‘ FRESH LIST PLEASE! ‘
🛅 Look out for early CSA signups for 2024, tell a friend or two. We want to remain in community with all of you, and strengthen our capacity to serve you better.
