We had an exciting fun filled weekend at the 2023 Mid-Atlantic IWC show! I am going to dedicate one post to each of our Aurai hounds who competed.
First off, I am so proud of young Talus (Aurai Angel’s Landing).
At a ~16 months of age she was “first time entered” in racing in a field of 22 dogs. And she placed 4th just behind her momma. In her first race, she and another newbie noticed each other a few yards before the finish line and considered playing while another dog zoomed past! So she tied for second in that race. In the second heat she got it down and finished first of the four in her race. Then in the final heat she moved up in scored ranking to the group just before the high points race, and promptly won that race too!!
In conformation Talus placed second in the 12-18 month Jr Bitch class.
In the regular standard rally competition she earned a qualifying score of 194/200.
And young Talus placed 4th overall in the triathlon competition with the 4th highest combined racing, rally (or) agility, and triathlon conformation score!
A good weekend for our Talus ❤️
And a big thank you to all those who made this show happen; Sidney Hoblit, Claire Conklin, Jackie Wright-Minogue, Steven Beckerman, Donna DeVoist, Sara Webb, Joan Klinger, and Jim Petack.
And thank you to Scott (didn’t catch your last name) for this great video of Talus racing out in front!
Newton and I having some fun at agility practice this evening!
Newton and I having a bit of fun on a cold Wednesday evening.
Newton (Aurai Defying Gravity) and I had fun at a CPE trial today at Paws for Thought Farm. We earned a Q (second place) in Wildcard level 3 and a Q (first place) in Standard level 3. This is our standard run, a little bauble below the A frame but zero faults!
Tricia and Newton doing agility!
Claire and Simon, doing agility!
We would like to wish a happy fourth birthday to the "Physics" litter pups, Henle, Newton, Sadie, Scout, Stella, Tifton, and Vegemite! These last four years flew by faster than our dogs run!
Simon and Claire at Simon's first ever CPE agility trial. This has been living on my phone and I thought I'd share!
