Southside Healthy Pet Clinic

Southside Healthy Pet Clinic Southside Healthy Pet Clinic is a registered student organization at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Southside is a healthy pet clinic only.

We are a student-run, cost-subsidized healthy pet clinic for low-income residents of the Ithaca Community. ** Due to COVID-19, normal clinic protocols have been modified until further notice. **

Southside Healthy Pet Clinic is a local animal clinic run by students from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Students provide vaccinations, basic laboratory tests, preventatives, and

physical exams at a reduced fee for residents who could otherwise not afford these essential services. Through Southside, we students aim to benefit our local community by taking care of the pets and their human companions! Currently, clinics are being held at the Southside Community Health Clinic in Ithaca, NY every other Wednesday each month. Southside would not be possible without the generous support of Cornell University, donations of product from pharmaceutical companies, and financial support from various private donors! Southside would also not be possible without the generosity of Domino's Pizza, which provides the pizza for each clinic at a greatly reduced cost. Each of our donors has allowed Southside to serve the needs of pets that may otherwise never receive basic veterinary care and to create learning opportunities for Cornell veterinary students.

Hello!

We wanted to post a reminder about our appointment policy. The services we provide are very valuable to the community and we depend on our clients respecting their scheduled appointment time. We understand last minute emergencies happen, however, if you know you will be unable to make your appointment, please email, call, or message us at least with 24 hours notice.

After 2 instances of cancelling less than 24 hours or providing no notice, you will no longer be eligible to schedule an appointment and you will only be seen as a walk-in the day of.

We have a high demand for appointments and want to provide our services to clients and their pets who continuously respect their scheduled appointment time.

Hello Ithaca community!

As a student-run, healthy pet clinic we strive ourselves in providing low cost preventative care to local pets. However, we are limited in our abilities and are always saddened to share that we do not perform spay or neuter surgeries. Nevertheless, we are excited to announce Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine's Annual Spay Day! 🤩

If you have been waiting to get your pets spayed or neutered, please read the flyer and scan the QR code for more information! Cornell's Spay Day provides free services, namely spay/neuter surgery, as well as vaccines, microchips, & flea/tick preventatives. 🐈🐕

It will be taking place Saturday February 17th 2024 at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. The link for the registration form itself is in the attached flyer or click this link: http://rb.gy/8a8rpi. Registration will open on February 3rd at noon. 🗓️

Unfortunately their capacity is very limited and in the past couple of years, once the form opens, the available appointments and waitlist fill up VERY quickly. This year they will be closing the registration once the waitlist is full or on February 6th at noon (whichever comes first).

You can direct any questions or concerns to [email protected].

We will not be taking walk in appointments tonight. All previously scheduled appointments will still be happening as normal. Thank you!
