Position: Animal Care Associate
Location: Jackson, MI
Department: Animal Care

Are you passionate about animals and looking to make a difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Associate to join our team!

Responsibilities:
Provide daily care, feeding, and cleaning for animals in our shelter.
Monitor and report the health and behavior of animals to veterinary and shelter staff.
Maintain a clean, safe, and humane environment for all animals in our care.
Support the shelter’s mission to promote the welfare of animals through compassionate care and community engagement.

Qualifications:
Strong love and empathy for animals.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Prior animal care experience.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks like cleaning and walking animals.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

Walk in vaccine clinic TOMORROW Monday December 2nd from 9am to noon!

What to expect:
Upon arrival, one of our volunteers will check you in. You will be asked to fill out a form of which services you would like. Payment will be accepted in person after you have filled out your form and before the services are provided. Both cash and major credit cards are accepted. No checks, please.

Price List:
Dog Distemper Combo Vaccine: $25
Bordetella Vaccine: $25
Cat Distemper Combo Vaccine: $25
Rabies Vaccine (dog or cat): $25
Dog or Cat Nail Trim: $15
Microchip w/ lifetime registration (dog or cat): $25
Dog Heartworm Test: $35

Extra Things to Know Prior To Arrival:
- Please only bring healthy pets to this event. Sick animals will not be vaccinated and referred to their veterinarian. Additionally, if your pet has received vaccines or tests in the past, it is helpful for you to bring those records with you.

Cats and dogs should be kept inside during cold weather. It's a common belief that dogs and cats are more resistant than people to cold weather because of their fur, but it's untrue. Like people, cats and dogs are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia and should be kept inside.
