Welcome to one of our many fenced in yards your pets get to play in during their stays! They get to spend time outside playing and doing their business several times each day.
Did you know that when boarding your pet with us you can add-on basic grooming so they come home extra spiffy? We have a large tub that accommodates dogs of all sizes. We also offer nail trims, ear cleanings, and a**l gland expressions.
So what do our kennels look like in dog boarding? We have several sizes to accommodate dogs of all sizes! Here’s a peak into a few of them!
What makes boarding at BRVC different? Having access to veterinary professionals is one of the many things that makes it unique. We are able to medicate your pets and even take care of special needs pets (special needs boarding requires extra approval by medical staff). Our boarding dogs do not interact with each other directly making the environment better for those who don’t enjoy playing with others. We also offer a variety of add-ons to their stays such as enrichment, baths, nail trims, and more!
Welcome to our cat boarding!
Many of you have probably seen our cat condos in the lobby. This is where our feline friends stay when boarding! We require cats to be vaccinated for feline distemper (FVRCP) and rabies as well as a negative f***l test. Their setup typically includes one side with their bed/blankets, food, and toys while the other has their litter pan.

BRVC is making some big upgrades to our boarding services. This includes extended hours to help make your pet’s experience better. Our boarding attendants will be working beyond these hours but the following are when we will be scheduling pickups and drop offs.
Are you looking to add a kitten to your family?
This sweet mama cat came in to be spayed and had given birth in the live trap overnight. A few BRVC team members stepped up to foster this little family until everyone was ready to part ways. They are only 2 weeks old so they need more time with their mama but when the time comes, we will be accepting applications for their adoptions. There are 5 kittens - 2 female, 3 male. They will come spayed/neutered and with their first vaccination. More information on adoption requirements and fees to come!
Vandercook Lake has a report of an algae bloom! Keep your pets out of the water as well as yourselves. If your pet has been exposed, rinse them well and contact us.
Maizey came to see us this week for a nail trim and LOVED her cheese lick mat! It’s so important for young dogs to be exposed to routine things such as nail trims on a regular basis. Having frequent, positive experiences like this one help reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in the future.
It’s always a good time to be prepared! Having a first aid kit for your pet is important, especially during the summer months when injuries are more likely to occur.
Blue green algae can be found in many bodies of water in Michigan and is especially dangerous for our dogs! Keep an eye out when around any water to keep you and your pups safe. Follow this link for reports on active blooms around the state.

Life is so exhausting when you’re a puppy! This sweet baby came to see us last week but nap time took priority above posing for a picture.

Heat stroke is an emergency! If you believe your pet may be suffering from heat stroke, it is crucial you get them to a vet immediately. You can start cooling them on your way by turning on the air and offering water.
Heat stroke is serious and very dangerous! Please keep a close eye on your pets when they’re outdoors and watch for signs of heat stroke. This is especially important for older, overweight, long-haired, and “smoosh faced” dogs!

This is Amigo showing off how incredibly resilient animals are. This video was taken less than 24 hours after his front leg was amputated due to a severe fracture. An amputation, especially at a young age, is actually a much easier recovery than most people would think. Today, Amigo is acting like a normal kitten and living his best, 3-legged life!
