KinderDOGen and Daycare: Good afternoon! This weather of ours is certainly making things complicated for our KinderDOGen and Daycare families and our team of eager "teachers" who are missing their students greatly!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, we will be closed for Daycare due to the unsafe temperatures.

WE WILL BE OPEN THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: We are going to offer a trial run of a cold-weather Daycare alternative on Thursday and Friday of this week if we don't reach the temperature needed for safe outdoor play. We have been developing various indoor enrichment activities: indoor ball pit, scent games, interactive food toys, and training skill building. This will be done individually and in very small groups of dogs. Your student may not receive significant amounts of physical exercise, but we will work their minds and that will exaust them in a different way. There will only be typical outdoor playgroups if/when we reach 35°, but everyone will have very short potty breaks throughout the day regardless of temperature.

We won't be able to *always* provide this alternative because it is going to require taking all of our students through the main building to prevent any elongated exposure to unsafe temperatures, and we will be utilizing multiple boarding rooms to set up enrichment stations. We will also need to "borrow" multiple team members from other departments to help us handle drop-offs and pick-ups as efficiently as possible and insure that no dog is outside to potty for longer than 3-5 minutes. This is just a trial run. Any future opportunities to utilize this alternative will be dependant upon the amount of participation we have this week.

Any of our indoor "Klubhouse" students (the spend their day in the small building instead of get walked up and down the sidewalk) will have a normal day with very short potty breaks outside.

KinderDOGen and Daycare: With the unsafe temperatures on Monday and Tuesday (20th-21st) we will be closed. Our team is actively discussing indoor activity options on some days when the cold makes outdoor play unsafe and we appreciate all of the ideas you've shared. There are so many things to consider regarding dog safety and that is our top priority. We appreciate your understanding!

We had the opportunity to celebrate Katie's birthday in daycare today (albeit quite delayed between the holidays and inclement weather closures) and everyone LOVED it! Happy Birthday, Sweet Katie! Thanks for the yummy treats you shared with your classmates!

***Attention KinderDOGen and Daycare*** We have been monitoring the predicted temperatures for tomorrow (Monday Jan. 13) very closely and unfortunately they haven't moved! Since it is only predicted to be 34° by 10am our veterinarian designated minimum temperature for safety guideline hasn't been met, so we will have to close KinderDOGen and Daycare for yet another day. Your closure texts and phone calls will be coming this afternoon. Anyone with bathing/grooming appointments can schedule a time with our desk attendants to bring your dog in for their spa services.

For our new KinderDOGen students: rest assured, the class will just be pushed back and any missed days due to weather will be made up at the end of the class.

With the current cold weather forecast for this week, we would like to offer a 15% discount off our boarding services for any outside dogs to bring them into the warmth. They would need to be up to date with Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper/Parvo vaccinations. Please call our resort to make a booking or for any other information.

UPDATE: Daycare will be closed for Thursday and Friday of this week as well (Jan 9-10). We are hopeful to have better weather next week!! Stay safe and warm! The rest of the Resort will be open as normal.

Daycare Closures Jan 6-8: Good afternoon! We have been closely monitoring the projected forecast for next week in regards to incoming frigid temperatures. In accordance with Veterinarian safety guidelines, we are closing daycare for sure on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week (the 6th, 7th, and 8th) due to unsafe temperatures. We will continue to monitor the forecast as we get closer to the middle of next week in regards to Thursday and Friday. The parent of every student that has a daycare appointment scheduled with us on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday will receive an automated text message alerting you of these closures. If your dog has a bathing or grooming appointment scheduled as part of their school day, our bathers and groomers will be here and will happily complete those appointments as scheduled. Please call the front desk to schedule a specific drop off time for those bathing/grooming appointments. We hope for warmer weather soon!!
