BEWARE OF THE "WHALE EYE"
Whale eyes are often seen when the dog is in a situation that makes him feel uncomfortable. The dog doesn’t want to stare directly, so he’ll avert his head the other way, but at the same time he doesn’t want to take his eyes off from what is concerning him.
You may see it when a dog is cornered, guarding a possession or in an uncomfortable situation such as when being photographed or hugged. The dog may feel stressed, anxious, fearful or defensive.

Here is Dani with officer Fryt on the hunt for a discarded weapon. Notice how she signals to her handler by sitting/laying down by the item. (In this case a pocket knife). Dani is also trained to sniff out drugs, and can also locate suspects that may be hiding or running away. She then signals and holds them there until the officers can arrive. (BTW her FAVORITE reward is her Kong and also doing a "victory lap" and getting high praise from all her human officer friends.
