🐾✈️ Boarding or Traveling this Summer? Don’t Forget These Must-Haves!
Most facilities require proof of current vaccinations to protect all pets — including your own! Here’s what your pets may need and we recommend:

🐶 Dogs
✅ Rabies
✅ DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Lepto, Parvo, Parainfluenza)- protects against highly contagious and potentially deadly viral and bacterial infections.
✅ Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
✅ F***l Test (to ensure they’re parasite-free before boarding)
✅Flea, Tick & Heartworm Prevention – Keep your pet protected while you travel!

🐈‍⬛ Cats
✅ Rabies
✅ FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) – protects cats from major respiratory and gastrointestinal viruses.
➕/➖ Feline Leukemia Vaccine – may be required depending on the facility and lifestyle
✅ Flea, Tick & Heartworm Prevention

🐴 🐴 Horses
✅ Rabies
✅Vaccines as needed:
- Rabies
- Tetanus Toxoid
- Strangles
- Eastern/Western Encephalitis
- West Nile Virus
- Equine Herpesvirus
- Equine Influenza
✅ Coggins Test (within the last 12 months!)
✅ Health Certificate (required for travel across state lines or to many boarding/events)

📣**For us to be able to write a health certificate we MUST have saw the animal within the last 30 days and for equine an up to date Coggins is required !**📣
📌 Note: Health Certificates are only good for 30 days after they have been written.

📅 Be sure to call us in advance to confirm your pet is up to date and ready for a safe summer boarding stay! Spots are filling fast, so don’t wait—schedule early to secure your preferred dates!

Keep Your Pets Cool as the Temperatures Rise! 🐾
Summer is heating up fast, and our pets feel it too! At Deer Ridge Animal Hospital, we’re here to help you keep them safe, cool, and healthy all season long. Here’s how:

☀️Provide plenty of fresh, COOL water at all times!
☀️Never leave pets in a parked car — even for a minute.
☀️Have shaded areas or cooling mats for outdoor pets.
☀️Check pavement temp — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!
☀️Walk early or late in the day when it’s cooler!

**Watch for signs of heatstroke — heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting? Call us right away!**
