Ruth:
Female, Mixed Breed, 3 Years Old

Meet Ruth! Ruth joined our program via Dog Is My Copilot from Texas. Ruth was rescued from a dog hoarding situation and is still decompressing after some huge changes in her life! Ruth is timid at first but will slowly learn to trust her people - a process that will require patience and understanding. This lil girl has been through a lot! Because of her background, Ruth will do best in a home with women or a single female owner.

THE AAC IS OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!

To set up a meet and greet, please fill out a dog adoption application ASAP or if you have already submitted one with us, call/email to put your name in line. We will form a line like usual based on who has an active and approved application in. We will go through our line to set up a private meet and greet for potential adopters to foster. 307-739-1881 [email protected]

Please note, Animal Adoption Center cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the rescue. We make every effort to ensure the dogs are healthy. Please know that our intention is to insure long lasting committed homes for the animals at the AAC. If we feel that an animal and a potential owner are not a good fit we reserve the right to refuse adoption.

Rocko:
Heeler Mix, Male, 4 Years Old

Welcome Rocko! This sweet boy joined our program after being rescued by the Sublette County Sheriff's office from a dog hoarding situation. Rocko spent several weeks hanging out at the sheriff's office (getting to sneak out for the occasional ride along of course!) but ultimately, is ready to find his forever home, even though he loved being an honorary sheriff. This is how Rocko ended up with us at the AAC. We have been blown away by Rocko's sweet and affectionate nature. Despite all he's been through, he adores people and animals of all kinds and would love to join almost any kind of household. We can't wait to find Rocko a home with all the love he deserves!

Oh Bella! 💐🐾 Another familiar face for many of you.

Bella’s journey through our program has not come to its happy forever ending just yet. After over a year of being up for adoption, Bella was adopted in the fall of 2024. Her owner had to leave the state after losing both job and housing and was unable to take Bella with, so she was surrendered back to the AAC.

The good news is that Bella has a safe and soft place to land back in our program with her previous long term fosters. We will always take animals back when an adoption doesn’t work out. Bella is happy, wiggly, and playful as ever and is starting fresh on her search for a new home. Call or email if you think that could be you. 💐🐾

Meet Bella! Many of you have been following along with Bella's journey through our program, which unfortunately has not come to its happy forever ending just yet. After over a year of being up for adoption, Bella was adopted in the fall of 2024, but her owner had to leave the state after losing his job and housing and was not able to bring Bella with. Fortunately, Bella had a soft and safe place to land back in our program with her previous long term fosters, and is now ready to start fresh on her continued adoption journey. She is as happy, wiggly, and playful as ever and would make a fantastic adventure buddy. Bella loves exercise of all kinds and is a pro at running alongside a bike! We can't wait to help her find her forever home.

Hi friends and community near and far! We know you’ve seen this smiling face across our platforms before.

Cherry is going on her 4th year in our program, and 3rd year with her incredible long term fosters. The time has come for her to find a new foster - or better yet forever - home. If she has ever tugged at your hearstrings or caught your eye (she is an internet celebrity after all!), she needs you to come forward for her.

Now at the age of 7, Cherry is looking for a place where she can cuddle, play, enjoy a belly rub, and be the only animal in her home. If you or anyone you know can provide this for her, even temporarily, please reach out. Our team would love to talk to you.

Even if you aren’t Cherry’s soft landing, sharing this post and getting it in front of someone who could be means a great deal to us and her.

❤️🍒🐶

Cheers 2024! There is so much to celebrate this year, including 294 adoptions and 1,881 animals spayed and neutered through our program. 🐶🐱

As the year comes to a close, we wanted to share some of our recent adoptions, including a very special one for our entire team - Tiki! Tiki has been waiting ever so patiently for her forever home with her foster since she joined our program in July. Tiki (now Wywy) got to spend her first holidays with her new family in Colorado this year and we are so happy for her.

Thank you for adopting and loving your rescue pets this year. 2025, bring it on! ✨🐾

Herding dog in search of something to herd 🔍

Meet Sadie. This cowgirl has spent most of her young life living behind a casino dumpster. This is where some very kind casino employees found her and began taking care of her. Since they weren’t in the market for a dog, Sadie was surrendered to the AAC.

Though we’ve only known her for two weeks, we learn more and more about her personality every day. She’s come from terrified and shut down to the #1 fan of our staff members. This girl is AFFECTIONATE. Probably due to the lil white heart of her forehead! 🤍 As she comes out of her shell, one other thing has become very clear: Sadie is a herding dog.

Things she likes:
🦴chasing toys
🦴flipping over for belly rubs
🦴people food, specifically bread (dumpster, duh)
🦴being near her people in a distraction-free environment

Things she needs:
🐾 someone who is familiar and comfortable with herding/ cattle dog breeds
🐾 a kid-free household
🐾 slow & controlled intros to other dogs
🐾 daily exercise & enrichment activities
🐾 continued confinement training skills that we have been building with her

We have been working hard to find Sadie a foster home for the holidays. If you think that you can give her a good foster or forever home, please give us a call!

Look at these puuuuuurfect cats! The cats in this album are currently in our program and are available for adoption!

The first step to meet one of these cuties is to set up a meet and greet by completing our online application. Please visit our website or Facebook to check out all of our adoptable cats! Once we receive your application we can move forward with scheduling a meet and greet. Your application will be valid for all cats moving forward.

For the safety of our staff, animals and community, there is a two person limit for in-peron meet and greets. We require all individuals to wear a mask and sanitize before entering the AAC. We can also accommodate a virtual meet and greet if requested.

Cat adoption fee is $100. If you're looking to adopt two cats you get the second one for free! Your adoption fee covers the spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations up to date! Cat adoption is considered final on the day you take them home, however; the AAC recognizes that an adjustment period of days or weeks may be necessary before they are fully comfortable in their new home. The AAC grants a two week trial period with cat adoptions to ensure that a good match is made. If a cat is returned within the two week trial we will refund the adoption fee.

Please note, Animal Adoption Center cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our cats as we usually have no history prior to them entering the rescue. We make every effort to ensure the cats are healthy.

Please know that our intention is to insure long lasting committed homes for the animals at the AAC. If we feel that an animal and a potential owner are not a good fit we reserve the right to refuse adoption.

Look at all those cute faces! The dogs in this album are currently in our program and available for adoption.

The first step in our adoption process is filling out a dog adoption application. Once submitted your application can be added to any dogs list of interested adopters. If you are the first qualified applicant in line you will be given the opportunity to meet the dog and take them home for a foster period, usually around four nights but our minimum is one! This gives you a chance to get to know the dog and decide if you want to adopt. If its not a good fit you can bring the dog back to us and we will move on in the list. Returning your foster dog doesn't disqualify you from meeting and fostering another dog! Our mission is to find these dogs the best home for them and sometimes that means staying with a few families before it's the right fit.

If one of the dogs in this album interests you please submit an application or email us - [email protected] - to let us know you already have an application submitted and would like your name on a particular dog's list.
You do not need to submit multiple applications, once your application is in it can be used for any dog you are interested in.

We can't wait to help you find a new best friend!
