The farm lost an incredible friend this weekend.
•
We met Mike one Friday when visiting the farm before moving here. He was so kind and welcoming. He ensured we knew he was around to help with anything we needed.
•
Mike was known to all the kids on the farm as the hunter. They would see him pull up in his white truck and excitingly watch as he came out in full cameflouge, ready to spend the day in the woods. They'd hope they'd get to catch a glimpse of Mike and Yossi schlepping a deer back.
•
On camp overnights, when the kids were scared, we would fib and say the hunter, Mike, was in the woods keeping the coyotes off the property. Just the thought of Mike being around made them feel safe, made all of us feel safe.
•
There are so many stories we can share about Mike. He taught me how to use every tool I thought I already knew how to use. He'd walk the farm with me countless times, listening to my crazy ideas. He'd jump in and help build anything, like the swing, he helped build ON Father's Day morning! The multiple times he pulled our ATV, tractors and trucks out of the mud always with a smile. In the summer, he would always offer for us to stop by his pool after the petting zoo with our kids because that's the kind of guy Mike was.
•
Mike once lent us his trailer bed for a hayride. Somehow, the ball came right off the trailer. Mike just took his hat off, scratched his head, and said, "Well, yassi, that's a new one." He never once judged us and was always willing to teach us.
•
Mike was a great storyteller and would tell us endless stories of troublemaker Mike growing up. He'd tell us about his grandparents' farm growing up and all the work he'd do there. Stories of his years spent hunting in the woods behind our property. He'd pridefully update us on his daughters, who were his pride and joy.
•
To think we will never see him pull into the farm in his truck is devastating. The world lost an extraordinary and kind soul. He will be terribly missed. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Hug your loved ones extra tight tonight 💗

Shabbos is our day of rest.
•
The only day when no customers visit.
•
It's just our little family, on the big farm.
•
We get to enjoy each other's company, eat meals as a family. Take family walks around the quiet farm. We play mancala 500 times with our babies 🥰

Simple. Just like we crave that friendship and relationship the horses are the same way. They can connect to each other and become bonded pairs. The same way we can connect to them and form our own bonded pair 😍😍

Have you ever hugged a horse? I mean really hug a horse?

When you're fully present in the moment.

You feel their fur under your fingers, they're still like a statue. You can feel their massive body hugging back. 💖

During our Sensory sessions we watch as our animals adapt to each client's needs.
They learn who to be softer with, who likes hugs, and who brings the snacks 🤣

💪hard work! 🔨 putting up the rails was on my to do list today! Yossi was busy giving a lesson, and our other employee was 💪 hard in the barn. So I went at it alone 😀💪💪 • When it's time to repair a rail, you can always tell who put it up originally. How? Yossi likes using 3 in nails and a hammer. I ❤️❤️ the nail gun!
