Happy Easter! We're praying there's no hail today!

Everything is growing so well and looking so good for our upcoming spring season. These pictures I just took show beets, broccoli, and cabbage (and Robin having fun in one of the tunnels). We just have to get through the rest of the day without severe weather. Pray for us!

We plan to harvest lettuce and kale tomorrow morning. For our members, if you would like to start off the week with fresh healthy greens let me know. As long as it lasts, we'll drop it off to your cooler over Monday and Tuesday. I know some of you want to wait until the spring crops come in. That's fine. But for those of you who want healthy food now just let us know.

The coronavirus.

We are taking it seriously, but we are far from panicking. We believe even more that God is protecting and providing real refuge in all this panic. He provides the peace we need to keep on going.

We also believe that this is especially a time to eat well and keep your immune system fed, healthy and thriving. Our family is committed as farmers, to keep growing SAFE! local, nutrient-dense produce for you. There is so much good health immediately available in them.

We grow food that helps build and boost our family's and communities' immune systems.

We also take food safety seriously. We are taking the CDC precaution by continuing the washing of hands and sanitizing of all work surfaces and equipment. We’re wearing sanitary gloves during harvesting and washing—and we’re using gloves now when we deliver to you. We have always used gloves and we will continue to do so throughout the future.

We will continue supplying our local families tables with fresh, local, healthy produce as long as we are able.

We know a lot of folks will be limiting social interaction, but we will continue to harvest and deliver.

All we ask, is you place a cooler outside your door for us to place your produce in. This will help keep your social interaction with us at zero.

Trust God now more than ever.

Signups for the 2020 Spring & Summer season will start this week!

We have been making so many plans for what we will be growing in 2020. We’re really excited and want to make this year the best crops we’ve grown yet. This is all about our goal of making a difference in the health of the families that eat our veggies. Growing nutrient dense plants is the key!

You can help us by signing up this week at www.freshgrownfarm.com. We’ll open the signups up to the public later this week at other Clinton pages. Last year it was two weeks for us to sell out our membership. Let your neighbors and friends know if you think they would like to start eating healthier—if they let us know that you told them to join we’ll bring them free lettuce as a way of saying thanks.

Everyone will need to sign up for 2020. Current members need to sign up too who have boxes still due from last season. We’ll communicate with everyone as to where they stand. We record every delivery so we can show you exactly where you are in your membership status.

Signing up is important. By signing up at the beginning of the season you help us to plan and know who we’re growing for. And how much we need to plant and grow. It's quite a planning process with all the different vegetables we grow.

Let us know if you have any questions. Text us: 601-966-6011. We’re here to make it easy for you!

One last thing: Here are some of the new vegetables we’ll be growing this year: sweet corn, sweet potatoes, potatoes, pumpkins, celery, parsley, and cilantro, as well as bringing back watermelon, cantaloupe, and blueberries.

Its time for our summer break at FreshGrown Farm!

We won’t be doing deliveries for a few weeks. Look for us to be ready again in September.
We’ve started changing over our crops to prepare for fall crops. There’s lots of work as all our beds are turned over and compost and minerals are added to the soil.
• In addition, we dug a well (we went over 650 feet deep!) and are putting in a new irrigation system to better water our plants.
• Our high tunnel we put in this year allows us to have a second season of tomatoes that we hope to have ready by late September.
• We’ll keep our page updated with our progress over the next weeks so you can follow how we’re doing and how soon deliveries will start again.
Thanks for helping us have a successful summer season! Let us know if you have any questions or comments.

I thought I'd post a quick update on our tomatoes.

We continue to have amazing production of big tasty tomatoes. Our high tunnel has been so great in providing a perfect environment for them to grow. They are the perfect tomatoes for tomato sandwiches or BLT's.

We'll have them available for anyone who'd like extra today and this weekend. Just $3/lb - but we'll make it even better if you want enough to do canning or put up a supply of salsa.

$2.5 /lb for 5 pounds
$2/lb for 10 pounds

Come pick yours out to get just what you want. We'll be around the farm Friday and Saturday.

Tomatoes! We have the best crop of tomatoes we've ever had. Both our big red varieties and our unbelievably tasty Sungold tomatoes. They've all been grown in our new high tunnel so they've had a nearly perfect growing environment. And of course all organic with no harmful chemicals.

Besides including them in our member's biweekly boxes we're going to offer them at $3/lb to anyone who wants to can them or make a large batch of salsa. After I've heard from any member's who want to do that first we'll post it to Let's Talk Clinton.

Let us know today or Saturday.

Hello Members! Greetings from your farmers! Sorry we haven't posted more but we have been working long days the past three months to get ready for this upcoming season. But we're so excited to get started and bring you the best in organic vegetables for 2019.

We built a 85 foot high tunnel to help us better extend our season and we've expanded and added more beds to grow more vegetables. And we never stop improving our soil by adding composted organic matter to all our beds. Our plants love it.

The crops have done so well considering the wild weather we've been through this spring. Lots of heavy rains and storms. Cold weather lasting longer than it should but then back and forth into very warm weather. Many of the cold weather plants have been trying to figure out what happened. We actually had to plant some crops over again that struggled.

LETS GET STARTED: Our lettuces, kales, pac choi, and carrots are ready to go so we're going to get them to you now. We're going to harvest tomorrow (Friday morning, the 26th) and start delivering on Friday and Saturday. I'll send everyone a private message to make sure its good for you. It won't be a full box so we'll count it as half a box. The next box after that will probably be a half box too as we get this season off the ground.

We'll harvest in the morning each day and deliver in the afternoon from 3:00pm - 7:00pm. Remember that even if you are going to be gone in the afternoon you can leave a cooler out and we can still get the veggies to you. Those of you who still have balances for your membership can leave a check in the cooler.

Also, I'll remind you in my delivery message to you if you do have a balance on your membership in case you've forgotten the amount.

Thanks so much for being a part of our farm family! We're looking forward to all that God enables us to grow for you this season.

Rick & Robin

P.S. - We'll have extra lettuce salad mix along when we deliver to you. If you have a neighbor or friend that you think might be interested in trying our lettuce, we'd be glad to have you give them a bag. Just let us know when we come to your door. We have an increasing number of people who have discovered how fresh our salad mix is--and how long it stays fresh.

Have you signed up for the 2019 Spring/Summer season?

We’ll be opening it up to the public Sunday night (through “Let’s Talk Clinton” Facebook and to the waiting list from last year). Last year we filled up our membership list in a couple of days. So we especially want to first take care of those who have been members in the past.

To sign up just go to our website: https://www.freshgrownfarm.com/

We’ve been busy preparing for another great season. We’ve added more beds for growing even more great vegetables--and we put up a new high tunnel to help us get an early start on tomatoes. We’ve worked hard on our lettuces so that we can ensure having a steady succession of salads for you all year long too. It should be another great season of healthy nutritious fresh from the farm produce!

Broccoli and Cauliflower

The cooler weather continues to produce some exceptional crops. The broccoli, cauliflower, and lettuces (mixed with spinach and beet greens) are at their peak both in terms of taste and nutrition.

We want to make it easy for you to get some of them. We’re going to harvest and deliver today and tomorrow for anyone who would like a combination of the three. They’ll make a great salad all together—or the broccoli and cauliflower are so good steamed. Cauliflower is a top super vegetable because of its cancer and heart disease fighting benefits. Google the health benefits sometime and see how good it is.

Let us know if you would like for us to drop off some for you. Cost is $15 and we’ll deliver either today or Wednesday—whatever is best for you. The easiest way is to put a cooler out and a check or cash in it. Otherwise, we’ll see you at the door. (If you still have boxes coming in your membership, we’ll making special accommodations so it works out best for you)

December 3 Update from Your FreshGrown Farm family

Our lettuces continue to be the champs of this difficult fall growing season. They are amazing—and so good. We’ll be harvesting tomorrow and Wednesday so we would love to get you some of the freshest! We’re harvesting other crops too and we’ll know how much will be available for your box as we see the quality we find. We only want the best to come to you in your box.

Let me know if its good for you for me to drop off a box tomorrow or Wednesday. I’ll be sure and let you know all that’s in the box as we finish harvesting. If you might not be home, plan to leave out a cooler to make it easy. The temperatures over the next couple of days should make it easy to stay cool.

We’ve got a lot of new things happening on the farm. Over the next few months, we’ll be adding more updates to our page so you can see them—and how it will affect the great fruits and vegetables that will be coming in the seasons ahead. Be sure and check us out.

For now, let us know if you'd like to get some of the best lettuce available in Clinton!

All of our fall crops are doing so well because of the cooler weather we've had the last three weeks. Its almost like they are showing their appreciation after the long hot, hot summer we had. The lettuces, kale, radishes and turnips are doing so good in terms of their taste and quality. And everything else is getting there fast.

We've been delivering to our current farm members as we ramp up again. If you would like to join us for the most nutritious crops of the year (I've said it before but be sure and look up the heath benefits of eating kale!) let us know. We would love to help provide some of our best to you!

If you tell me this afternoon (and you live in Clinton) I'll drop off lettuce and kale when I make our deliveries so you can get in on the great nutrition. We picked everything this morning so you can't get any fresher.

We'll be at Clinton's Fresh at Five Farmer's Market tomorrow night from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Downtown Clinton.

We'll have an assortment of unique flowers in pots for $6 and $7. We've tried to grow some different but pretty flowers.

Hope to see you there!

Spring is coming! Monday morning pictures of lettuce, a new variety of beets, and Chinese cabbage. We protect much of our crops under row covers too. Still, everything is slower that we wish but its all looking good. April deliveries to our farm family ASAP.

A lonely broccoli that didn't get harvested Sunday.

We had a busy and chilly Sunday as we made the decision to harvest (and sell) all our remaining vegetables. Wow. We had an overwhelming response. Delivered nearly 35 boxes over the several days. Everyone must want to eat healthy for the New Year. Yay!

We've got baby seedlings that will be getting planted in the next weeks--after it warms. We'll be shooting for late February/early March to be back providing boxes.

Stay in touch!

Have you tasted some of our newest garden winter vegetables? Carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and onions.

You might want to get a box this week. Some really cold temperatures coming next Sunday - Tuesday are going to be a challenge for us. We'll cover everything but several days straight of freezing temperatures can do a lot of damage. Pray for us that we make it through. Otherwise, we'll start our planning for early spring crops.
