Do you know why Boxers are called Boxers? The most common belief is that they were so named due to their playful manner of standing on their hind legs and using their front paws to box like a human. We don't know where this trait came from but we love that boxers are so playful, silly and puppy like for most of their life--just like this dapper gentleman!

Meet Maximus! He is almost 9 years old and still has that look of a young pup in his eyes. Thanks for being part of our family, young sir. We will watch you box and play forever!

Today's star of the show is Ollie! She is an almost 2 year old Husky mix and has the most crystal-clear blue eyes! She showed off her gorgeous smile and sweet face while she stopped by recently for a visit. We are so happy to have you as part of our fur family, sweet girl!!

There are very few things we can guarantee in this world, but one thing is certain: If you walk into our lobby with a teeny tiny puppy, you will quickly be relieved of your precious baby while everyone one of our team fights over who gets to hold him next!

That was exactly the case with this tiny little guy named Maverick. He is only 8 weeks old and at his last visit he was almost 1.5 pounds!! Oh how you melted our hearts, darling boy. We cannot wait to snuggle and cuddle with you again on your next visit, but get ready for lots of it. Because you're too cute to let go! Thanks for being part of our fur family, sweet little man!

While Siberian Huskies were bred with a thick dual-layer coat to endure frigid temps, they can live quite happily in tropical climates too, with a little help from their people. Some tips for owning a husky in Florida (and avoiding heat stroke!):

1. Ensure she always has access to lots of water. Hydration is key!
2. In super hot months, limit walks during the day to short ones, and save the longer ones for evening when it is cooler.
3. Consider keeping a kiddy pool or water mat in the back yard so she can quickly cool her core body temp down while lounging in the water.
4. Be sure to offer a cool, shaded area outside with plenty of breeze to keep her body temp from rising.

Just look at this Siberian Husky beauty! Her name is Coco and at 2 years old, she is a perfect example of a thriving Florida Siberian Husky. She is just the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. We love her visits, her colorful eyes and her playful personality. Thanks for being part of the Florida husky family and part of our family too!

Even though he's being coy and looking away, Cooper really does enjoy his fair share of love and affection, and we sure enjoy showering him with it! Cooper is a 3 year old Goldendoodle and we just love when he comes to visit. Thanks for being part of our fur family, sweet boy!

Did you know that the modern Shih Tzu breed (every Shih Tzu dog in the world!), is descended from just 13 dogs that were saved from China in the early 1930s? Originally bred to live a life of luxury inside royal palaces, the breed has become a wonderful family pet and is great with small kids. That is a pretty lofty pedigree but we think today's star, named Kobe, shows his royal heritage perfectly!

This sweet boy is 11-1/2 years old and looks just as darling and adorable as when he was a baby! Kobe, we are so happy you have chosen us to be part of your fur family and we love when you come to visit!

If we win the lottery, we won't say anything but there will be signs....such as carrying around the most adorable Boxer puppies all day long as we (try to) work!

This baby is Buffalo and we can't imagine a sweeter or more snuggly boy. Buffalo, we can hardly wait to watch you grow up and become a big, handsome, strong young man. But don't ever lose your sweet snuggly-ness! Welcome to our fur family!
