ADOPT OREO
Meet Oreo. Hard to believe this gorgeous good boy was abandoned in a crate at Beach Blvd and San Pablo Rd. When good samaritans found him he was absolutely terrified and traumatized. I went to pick him up and eventually registered him with the city ACPS and he became my foster dog project. It took him 11 days before he would come anywhere near me. He always loved my dogs and I think my trio of 4-legged loves helped demonstrate he could trust again. He is an amazing dog. He does have some eccentricities (as we all do). His ideal
adopter would have a working knowledge of the needs of border collies and a willingness and patience to understand him. Once he knows he can trust you, he will love you forever. He will climb on top of you, sit in your lap, flip over and beg for belly rubs. He just wants to be loved and understood. He is amazing inside the home. He’s never done anything bad nor had an accident in the 6 months we’ve been together. Could you be the right person for him? 💙🐾
🐾 Estimated 2-4 years old
🐾 Neutered, vaccinated & microchipped
🐾 Good with other dogs
🐾 Older kids only
🐾 Cats unknown. I think he would be scared of them and leave them alone and could see him eventually loving them.
🐾 Knows basic commands
🐾 House trained & dog door trained
🐾 Very good manners inside a home
🐾 Loves car rides
🐾 Loves the dog park - we frequent Paws Park in S Jax Beach
🐾 He doesn’t require as much exercise as a normal border collie (probably bc he’s a mix). One dog park trip a day is what we do and it’s plenty to satisfy his exercise needs. Walks would suffice as well. He loves to be outside so a home with a yard would be ideal. I have a dog door and he spends more time outside in my yard than inside.
🐾 Overall good boy
🐾 Would love a sibling dog but also would be ok to be solo.
