We often find many strange things when we inventory sea turtle nests. Today a two-headed hatchling was found by one of our volunteers. This little one survived for a couple minutes upon surfacing then passed away.

This mutation is more common in reptiles than in other animals but it is still very rare. The reality is, few baby turtles make it to the end of the road; somewhere between one in 1,000 and one in 10,000 are estimated to actually survive to adulthood.

The chances for a double-headed turtle are no doubt even worse. So the odds of survival were very low. Still an amazing discovery!

**Update- he has found a plane ticket** Male orange Dalmatian. Has red, green and black spots. Bought him from the National breeder expo in Daytona in 2019 I believe. More of a pet quality male, easy to handle, very friendly. Always greets me when I feed him. Would make a great pet for someone just entering the hobby. He is 49 grams and has always just looked kind of chunky lol but I assure you he is not being over fed and has actually been on a diet for a while 😅 Adding to morph market later. **sorry about the background noise, I forgot to mute it 😅** .
