It’s a Teddy Bear Affair! Our friends at Nemours Children’s Health will be back on Saturday, December 14 so children can bring their plush animals for a check-up. The specialists will be seeing “stuffy” patients from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Range of the Jaguar for x-rays, eye exams, casts and more.

Plus, kids get in FREE if they bring a stuffed animal.

Celebrate South America's wildlife this weekend at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens! 🐾🌎

On Sunday, November 24, experience animal feedings, jaguar enrichment, ambassador animal encounters and other family-fun activities. Plus, chat with some of our Animal Care Specialists to learn more about the species that reside in Range of the Jaguar!

This celebration also highlights our global conservation mission. Your visit helps support efforts like the Rupununi Wildlife Research Unit in Guyana, working to protect jaguars and their habitats. Together, we’re making an impact!

We are deeply saddened to share that our beloved Komodo dragon, Kawan, passed away due to age-related health issues. At 21 years old, Kawan was the 9th oldest Komodo dragon in human care in the United States, a testament to the exceptional care and attention he received throughout his life at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. 💚

Kawan’s treatment plan—including therapies like acupuncture, laser treatments and hydrotherapy—not only enhanced his quality of life but also provided valuable insights that continue to benefit other aging animals at the Zoo.

As we reflect on Kawan’s memory and the care that allowed him to thrive, we’re reminded of the importance of supporting all our senior animals. This Giving ZOOday, we invite you to join us in continuing this legacy of care. Your contribution helps ensure that every animal at the Zoo receives the love and attention they need to age gracefully and comfortably.
