How can I protect my pet from the new dog respiratory illness?
While the cause of the respiratory illness remains unknown, he and other experts are giving dog owners this advice:

Make sure your dog is up to date on all their core vaccines, as recommended by your veterinarian.
Avoid visiting dog parks at peak times.
If your dog is sick, keep them home from daycare, and other places where they could come into contact with other dogs.
Keep high-risk dogs home from dog parks, dog daycare and groomers. These include puppies who've not received all of their vaccines, geriatric dogs, dogs with autoimmune diseases or other health conditions, and dogs taking immunosuppressants, steroids, cancer treatments or other drugs that could lower their immune response.

Does your pet become a scaredy cat during storms? 🐱🐶♥️ Well todays Whisker Wednesday Tip of the Day is all about what you can do to keep them calm during a storm!

Here are some tips for keeping your pet calm during a storm:
Create a safe space for them - have their bed, favorite toy, some food and water, and maybe a blanket they like.
mask the loud noises - thunder and wind can be loud to help calm your pet use a while noise machine or calming music to help
try calming products
Keep them indoors
stay calm - your pet can pick up on your emotions, if your stressed they will most likely be stressed as well during the storm

Have an emergency kit for your pet ready to go just in case you have to leave your home.
Items to include: food and water, toys, comfort item, extra leash and harness, photo of you and your pet, medical records, and waste bags or litter box with litter.
