🚨 Help Urgently Needed! 🚨

ACPS is full-we are currently caring for 264 dogs and 144 cats. We are thankful to everyone in the community that has adopted and fostered in the last week and a half! You made a difference but there are still many animals in need.

Here’s how you can help!

Adopt or Foster: We need the most help with dogs over 45 pounds. Stop by the shelter and we can find a great match for you. Adoptions are free all until Sunday, August 15th.

Donate: We can always use soft treat like pupperoni, velveeta style cheese, kitten food, Vienna sausages and hot dogs. Support our partners Friends of Jacksonville Animals. They provide advanced medical care for ACPS and support pet owners in our community.

Help Lost Dogs Reunite with their Families: Before bringing a lost dog to the shelter try to reunite them with their owner. Did you know that most lost dogs are found less than a mile away from home?

Ask for help: If you need help please ask us. We want to keep pets with their families and may be able to direct you to resources that can do just that.

The animal loving community of Jacksonville is amazing and we know we can do this! Thank you for your support!

Guess what?! I’ve been moved to Jax Humane Society on Beach Blvd! I get to have a new environment and new people to come meet me! Wish me luck I find someone to love forever. 8464 Beach Blvd

My shelter friends made this cardboard thingy for me with my picture on it. I’m not really a spotlight kinda guy, but I do fink that maybe my forever family will see it and come get me!

Info about Finn:
🐶 About 4 yrs old
🐶 60lbs
🐶 Has done good in a home with dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles! (Slow introductions are always highly suggested 😊)
🐶 Seems to be potty trained
🐶 Knows basic commands
🐶 Loves stuffed toys
🐶 Loves car rides
🐶 Doesn’t love rain and fireworks
🐶 Walks well on a leash, good listener
🐶 Currently residing at Jax ACPS 2020 Forest St Jacksonville, FL 32204 waiting for his forever person/people to come get him

Update: Adopted 💙

Finn is a lovable squish of a dog. He is very sweet, polite, and gentle. He is a volunteer favorite at Jacksonville ACPS (he’s now at JHS 8464 Beach Blvd). Finn is one of the longest residents at the shelter and it’s hard to understand why. Sometimes there is that dog that just gets passed over again and again and again.........that just stays way longer than he should ever have to. That watches everyday through his kennel door all the different people, stop at his kennel, look, and keep walking. That watches all the other dogs come and go. And he remains. Still waiting. For his turn. His turn to leave with someone who will ♥️ him forever too. And he’ll never have to see the inside of a shelter again. Through it all, Finn still remains loving and grateful to the staff & volunteers that care for him. He holds no grudges. He is a good boy. Well we are here to help Finn! We are promoting him in every way we can, hence making him his very own FB page! We want to see Finn get the loving, caring, forever home he deserves.
