Monday with Meadow, 6 years old and 47lbs with 2 puppies! ❤️🐶🐶

Meadow and her 2 little flowers are looking for a foster home to finish blooming! She would love to raise her family in a comfy home instead of in the loud shelter. Mom does all the work!

Bear is this morning WJXT4 The Local Station / News4JAX 4's Pet Project Super Star! Bear is currently being fostered and his foster parents just love him. He is 4 years old, weighs approximately 30 lbs and is housebroken. He loves running around and playing in the backyard, being by your side, and happily jumps in your lap for belly rubs. He's the perfect size if you live in a place that has pet weight restrictions. Bear would love to be your one and only pet so he can receive all of your love. If you would like to bring Bear home for the holidays, email Animal Care & Protective Services at [email protected] and they will connect you with Bear's foster family.

Calling all Secret Santa’s …. the time has finally come to spoil the furry cats and dogs of ACPS.

Do you or someone you know want to be a Secret Santa to one of the many dogs or cats at ACPS? If you are rubbing your beard, shaking your red hat, or jiggling your jolly bell, read on …
The volunteers at Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) are organizing “Secret Santa” for the animals. You can become a Secret Santa for a cat, a dog, or both by filling out the form at the link below:

Once the volunteers receive your form, you'll be emailed a wish list for you to choose that special gift for your dog or cat. If you purchase from the wish list, the gift will be sent directly to ACPS. If you choose to buy something else, you can either drop the gift off at 2020 Forest Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204; Monday-Friday from 12-7 and Saturday-Sunday from 10-6 or mail the gift to Secret Santa/ACPS/FOJA, 2020 Forest Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204.

No matter how you give, please be sure to include your name so you can be thanked!

Wednesday with Ernie, 6 years old and 48lbs 1💙

Ernie needs a 60 day foster commitment so he can start heartworm treatment, funded by your donations! He has severe heartworm disease, and we would like to treat him ASAP, but the shelter environment is too stressful. Will need restricted activity through his treatment.

Very sweet boy and walks well on leash!

Thursday with Lucas, 4 years old abd 57lbs (could be more) ❤️

This resilient boy has been in two separate shelters, THREE times now. He’s doing his best to hold on, but even the most resilient of dogs need a break.

Wednesday with Glee, 3 years old and 57lbs (should be more)

Glee has been struggling for MONTHS to gain weight. Despite best efforts, he just cannot gain or maintain his weight due to kennel stress. Glee needs you!

✅️Appears to have extensive training (place, heel, as well as sit, down)

Every kennel has a kuranda style bed to keep the pups off the concrete (doubled kennels have 2). As with most things, wear and tear will destroy the fabric portion of the bed. Good news, for only $33/bed, we can make them like new!

Emmett is an adoptable dog showcasing the current state of some Kuranda style beds at Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS). These beds are critical to humane animal care as they keep the animals off the bare ground in their kennels while they await adoption.
