We’ve received quite a few donations for Cass County Animal Rescue! But we’d love to see this turkey continue to grow some more feathers before Thanksgiving!
We can take donations towards the rescue account in person, over the phone, or even via a texted link if you’d like to donate!

Let’s talk cat claws! 🐈‍⬛
We often get asked why we don’t do declawing.
Declawing is essentially amputating cat’s toe from the last knuckle. It is incredibly painful and can cause long term behavior issues as well as arthritis.
Claw caps, like Claudia’s owner uses, are a great alternative (and come in lots of fun colors), as well as regular nail trims, and providing your cat with acceptable surfaces to scratch.

Timmy and Jimmy and pretty inseparable. If you see one, the other usually isn’t too far behind. We love these wild boys.

What a great program!

Another Pets for public Service adoption complete.
Bacon (now Lycan) came to us from Cass Co Animal Control. He was on trial with another family but sadly it just wasn’t a good fit.
With generous donations to our Pets for Patriots program, we were able to place Bacon with this perfect fit family. Dad served this country in the Navy for 8 years. We were happy to be able to waive their adoption fee as a small thank you for his service to our country.

Someone needs to adopt this sweet baby! Even with a hurt leg he was so sweet and purring 🐱

UPDATE- Sherbert had his surgery for his amputation and is doing well. He is all tucked into a wonderful foster home that is experienced in complex medical situations. He will stay with her until he is ready for his new home.
Little Sherbert was potentially dumped just outside of Beardstown with his only injury being the broken leg. We don’t believe he was hit by a car or made it to the location on his own with only 3 functioning legs and in pain. If anyone knows anything about what may have happened to this baby please reach out to us.
For now he is recovering well and his foster assures us he is as sassy as ever! 😹🐈🥰
Thank you Hometown Vet for helping us help those that can’t speak for themselves. And thank you to the people who found him and got him to us to help!

Our Story

Hometown Veterinary Clinic of Jacksonville, formerly known as Ebrey Veterinary Clinic, was established in 1975 by Dr. John Ebrey. In 2017, after 45 years of serving the Jacksonville community, and helping countless numbers of animals and their humans, Dr. Ebrey retired and Dr. Hannah Burnett purchased the clinic and Hometown Veterinary Clinic was established. "After years outside of Jacksonville, Dr. Burnett decided after the birth of her son to firmly plant roots near family and friends. Circumstance led to the opportunity to fulfill my dreams of helping Jacksonville area animals and their owners for many years to come. Hometown Veterinary Clinic, is exactly that for me- it is home, and I look forward to you joining me here." -Dr. Burnett
