PETS LOOKING FOR THEIR OWNERS, THESE PETS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Here are a few of the intakes that came to the shelter that are looking for their owners. To see all pets that are at the shelter, visit our website here: https://www.onslowcountync.gov/186/Animals
If you are missing your pet and it is at the shelter, please contact us immediately at 910-455-0182 or come to the shelter during our operational hours: Tuesday-Friday 12pm-5:30pm and Saturday 10am-4pm. All pets that are at the shelter are held for 72-hours and then are up for disposition after a medical and behavioral assessment.
If your pet is NOT at the shelter, please please view our monitor the website as new intakes are updated immediately, come to the shelter during our business hours AND complete a lost/found report for the area to increase your chances of finding your pet. If you have FOUND a pet, follow the steps below -
1 - Create a lost/found report on our website to increase reunification: https://www.onslowcountync.gov/1199/Report-LostFound-Pet
2 - Go to a microchip scanning station in Onslow County or a vet office to have the pet scanned for a chip. Attempt to contact the owner or complete a search of the area found to help reunite the pet quickly.
3 - Contact Animal Control when outside of business hours by calling dispatch at 910-455-9119 or by pressing 1 on our main line 910-455-0182. *Animal Control is ONLY dispatched through these avenues*
4 - Bring the pet to the shelter during our business hours to turn over to the county for the stray hold. Please note: We do not complete paperwork outside of the business hours due to needing to complete other duties. However, we now have a microchip scanning station placed by Paws 4 Purpose to help you reunite the pet outside of our business hours.
