Roselle Hibiscus for the win! This easy to grow plant is great for beginner gardeners. Seeds are planted in early Spring & become a large productive bush by Fall. We enjoy the flowers & of course the calyx that we use to make hibiscus tea! Tea can be made from fresh or dried hibiscus. Don’t forget about the syrup, jam, & cranberry sauce alternative we make with it as well.

Turmeric is such an easy to grow perennial for our area! We only harvested from two plants & got 2 1/2 gallons!
The rhizomes help to aerate compacted soil & prevent soil erosion on our hugel kultur beds.
Another amazing benefit is turmeric will bully out the weeds!
We use the greens (when we’re not inhaling their amazing aroma) as a chop & drop bio mass to suffocate out weeds & feed the soil around our fruit trees in the syntropic food forests. And, of course the chickens enjoy the occasional snack from the green leafs too.
Join us for our Open House tours every first & third Saturday to learn more about our sustainable agriculture systems.

We built an arch! This is going to be BEAUTIFUL AND BOUNTIFUL!
Why trellis? In Florida, we get a good bit of rain in the warmer months. Trellising can help with fungal issues on things like tomatoes, cucumbers, and squashes. It can also help with pest control. Not only that, but it gives us MORE GROW SPACE and that means MORE PRODUCE! It's a WIN, WIN, WIN!
