🎊🎊 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Cheers to all of our amazing animal patients & guests and their human counterparts for being part of our 2024! And thank you to our staff for being such an incredible crew of compassionate, committed caretakers. We welcomed awesome new team members, implemented exciting new projects & plans, added some great features to better accommodate our clients and celebrated another fun anniversary event ☺️. Most of all, we got to do what we love most - be there for our community and offer support to so many wonderful pet families & friends 🐾
Here’s to an upcoming year of good health, joyful moments, fun adventures & new opportunities! We look forward to sharing them with you ❤️.
Last week, one of our staff members helped rescue a goose whose legs had become entangled in fishing line. Dr. Dee examined him, dispensed pain meds & antibiotics and one of the rescuers provided him a safe, quiet place to recover. Fast forward to today where this guy has made an awesome recovery and was released back into the wild close to where he was found. He immediately started bathing, preening & happily exploring his surroundings. A flock of geese arrived shortly after and - within a few minutes - accepted him into their group. A happy ending that we wanted to share! 🥰
Thank you to our resort team member Lauren for this fantastic video of some of our canine campers having a blast in the pool 💦
Whether inside or out, the campers at our resort can enjoy splashing around 💦. Great for cooling down, burning off energy and just plain FUN!!!
UPDATE 8/19: Gravy has gone to a home and we’re hoping it all goes well!
GRAVY STILL NEEDS A HOME ❤️
This special, sweet, handsome hound boy (who has been named “Gravy” by the staff) continues to wait for a home. As we get to know him, it’s becoming clear that he was likely in an environment that didn’t bother working with him or harnessing his energy in a productive way. This guy needs some patience with a person or family who sees his potential and understands that he can be a great addition given the opportunity and guidance. His larger size and exuberance mean he’d do best in a home with older kids, a good amount of space and kitty-free. Gravy can clear high fences & boundaries, so will need to be watched carefully and/or securely contained. He is neutered & current on vaccines, but tested positive for heartworm so will need a commitment to his ongoing treatment (we do have a person who has volunteered to help with costs if adopted).
With shelters & rescues busting at the seams right now, it’s a tough time for a lot of animals in need. We believe in this boy and really want him to have a bright future. Being an adult dog with a few challenges, we realize it will take the right person or people to give him that chance. But we feel he is absolutely deserving of it. Living alone in the woods for a while must have been pretty rough, but he survived and is worthy of feeling loved & cared for.
Please continue to share this gorgeous guy. We appreciate that so many of you have already. Let’s find this hunky hound a home ❤️
Call us at 904-717-6840 for more info or to meet him in person.
*** If you know of an ideal rescue / family / sanctuary / farm that is out of state or elsewhere in Florida, our Social Media Manager Laurie has offered to help transport him.
Our campers love the option of being outdoors in the play yard or inside by the pool! With today’s beautiful weather, both spaces are active with happy dogs having fun with friends ❤️
Have you all met Richard? He’s our clinic cat. He clearly harbors the ancient ancestral instincts of a stealth & calculated hunter. Here we see him in his natural habitat exhibiting his focused, steadfast prey drive…
How cute is this little guy?! New to the resort, Watson is loving it!!
Baby boy Barnaby is having a blast at the resort! How adorable is this little guy?! 🥰
BUBBLE FUN 💦
We love to keep our doggy guests entertained and active when they spend the day with us. These canine campers are hopping & popping for joy as they chase pet-safe bubbles in one of our spacious play yards 😀
Handsome boy Blake is loving his Shed-Less grooming session with Brandi!
This special service rids the undercoat of loose & dead hair which most double-coated dogs start shedding as the weather warms up. It includes a bath, brushing & blowout with special shampoos and tools designed for maximum results. A Shed-Less groom reduces pet hair in your home, helps keep your dog’s skin clean and promotes healthy fur regrowth. And our canine clients enjoy the experience!
