This is Sadie, a rescue dog recently adopted by a very sweet lady named Nancy. Rescue dogs can be a challenge when bringing them into a new home with little to no information of their past history. One thing we do know about Sadie is she is beaming with energy and enthusiasm, she loves to go out so much it makes it hard for her to breathe normally. What I’ve set up in this home which you’ll see above is a little course for us to walk out in and around the home and allow Sadie to realize not not everytime we go out the door does it have to be with full sp*ed! Take the time to watch until the last video to see the progress made in just a few minutes of work.

Until reliably housetrained, your puppy can safely spend time in the following situations:

• Outside with you

• In confinement

• Free in the house for 30-60 minutes at a time, with active supervision and only after the dog has fully eliminated. Increase the time by 30 minutes each week with no accidents.

Why is it we walk out the house with our dogs to take a walk with no plan? This video I’m going to talk about the do’s and don’ts of leash walks, it’s very important to have a strategy going into your walk. If you know what you’ll do in whatever situation your dog might bring, whether it be good or bad you’ll be in a great position to succeed.

This video I’m talking about position on the leash. Most people wish their dogs would just pick a side of the leash and walk but, it’s not up to the dog. Our job as a dogs leader is to guide them into the correct position we’d like from them while walking on a leash. If we change our grip constantly and follow the dogs lead, then I don’t think at that moment we hold the title of “leader”. Learn proper how to help your dogs be the best walkers and much more with Marshall Dog Training!

New puppy? If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I wonder if this play pen is a good idea for our puppy” then I have the answer for you! A play pen can seem like a great solution but it opens up many problems to arise, such as jumping on the side to get out, not learning how to hold its p*e p*e because there’s too much space.. the list goes on. A crate is a great solution to those two problems and can really help teach self soothing. Of course the crate can be a challenge for some and that’s why here I’ve come up with many ways to teach dogs how to enter the crate and learn to settle faster once inside.

As a new small business owner there’s a lot of new obstacles, and one of them is remembering just to ask “hey would you mind writing a review on google?” I tend to focus too much on the training and not about how to get more training. So if everybody who’s worked with me in the past wouldn’t mind hopping on google and writing an honest review, that would really help me to become a better trainer for any future clients!
