It's World Veterinary Day! Veterinary professionals are an "essential and integral part of health at large" World Veterinary Association. Take a moment to reflect on that and enjoy all the privileges and responsibilities that come with it. Whether working in legislation, public health, lab animal, large/small domestic, exotics, or zoo/aquarium/conservation, veterinarians help make the world a safer and healthier place for all of its inhabitants. So on this day that celebrates all veterinarians, what inspires you to be the incredible person and professional you are?

Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus (EEHV) continues to impact Asian and African elephants in human care and in the wild. Now more than ever, it is important to continue sharing critical medical, husbandry, training, and scientific information with colleagues across the globe.

The North American EEHV Advisory Group is hosting a three-day virtual Global EEHV Symposium on March 5-7, 2024 from 7 am โ€“ 10 am CST (1 pm โ€“ 4pm GMT). Information about the EEHV Advisory Group may be found at
eehvinfo.org

We look forward to including researchers, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, conservationists, elephant husbandry professionals, and colleagues from across the world in this symposium.

We are seeking abstracts to be presented for the meeting and aim to include case reports, research findings, vaccine progress reports, treatment plans, and advisory/working group updates. Panel discussions involving EEHV experts will also be part of the symposium.

A call for abstracts is available now with final abstracts submissions due by December 15, 2023. A sample abstract is available to follow for formatting. Submissions and questions may be directed to [email protected].
