Your pet has 24 hr care here. This is our home, this is where we sleep. No one is left alone longer than the time involved for running errands. We do not shut off lights and leave the premises -- your dog is HERE WITH US! Daily rate includes:
* 2 meals (your food provided- 3 meals for puppies or elderly dogs)
* playing in daycare all day
* 24 hour care and supervision
* medications/supplements

Since September, Coldsprings has logged over 349 visits to schools in different districts through New England. We have multiple dogs trained to be resource officers and spend time educating our young people on service/therapy dogs. Children are our future, so an important part of our program is education. They learn if a people has a service dog how to respond, what a life changing partnership it is. They also learn with therapy dogs how to breathe, reset, relax, and trust their unjudging friend. Dogs teach us so many important skills from body language, unbiased behavior, friendship and loyalty all important skills children also need to learn.

Summer is well on it's way and along with it, all of the insects!! Today, we will teach you about BLACK FLIES.

Black flies can be found anywhere as the temperature warms up, but are most common around rivers and moving water, which is where they lay their eggs and emerge as flies.

If you bring your pet in from a walk and notice these types of markings, my first piece of advice to you is: DON'T PANIC. Black fly bites are very easy to treat at home and typically do not need medical attention. We recommend you wash the area with a mild soap and pat dry. You can also wrap an ice pack in paper towels and apply to your dog’s fly bites to relieve any swelling. It's highly recommended to keep your dog from itching and scratching at the area, this could irritate it further and introduce a secondary skin infection.

Coldsprings Healing Paws Foundation prepares dogs and puppies for a future in service or therapy work. We are 100% volunteer based with zero overhead for staff, we love this mission and work towards it together as volunteers. We also spend almost all our time focused on the dogs and their future handlers rather then fundraising and grant writing. Today we have a match dollar for dollar.
