Good luck bow hunters during the 2024 archery season! With it starting August 30th, it's best to get your trophy to a taxidermist within a day. If that's not possible the cape should be clean, cool to the touch, and folded into a plastic bag then placed in a freezer. Feel free to share this information.

Caping Instructions:
1. Cut around the mid section of the deer start at V of the sternum/chest.
2. Cut around the knee of the front leg.
3. Starting behind the knee of the leg begin cutting up the line where the white and brown hair meet. Avoid cutting into the arm pit when you reach the elbow. Continue cutting behind the elbow up to the chest wall. When you hit the chest wall cut straight back to the mid section cut.
4. Begin skinning to the head. Take your time, especially when skinning in the arm pit area, legs, and the front of the chest.
5. Stop skinning 5 inches behind the head. Remove the head.
