May 1rst will be my last day teaching lessons to outside students. I will primarily be focusing on my Equestrian Club and my training business. If you are in my club or want to join I’m happy to offer lessons to you.

I’ve taught beginner students longer than I’ve been training horses. (Close to 25 years) but unfortunately I no longer am spreading myself and my life so thin. Boy have I had some amazing kids and adults come through my barn doors. Many and I mean many have gone on and flourished in the equine community and I’m so incredibly proud of them all! Nothing makes my heart so full to see many of those kids continually being successful in the showpen!

If you want to join my equestrian team please feel free to reach out. We have had one meeting and one open ride so far but the year is just getting started!

Thank you to so many of you over the years for choosing me as your coach and leader. I will forever be grateful to you all!

Alright let’s go play in the big show sand box Zeppe! Check out that Mohawk! Is he a Fjord or a Shire? We don’t care it’s a pretty slick look for the big dog! Zeppe is filling in for Max this weekend. Thanks big guy let’s go get it done 💪🏻😉

You know we were trying real hard to at least wait till April to start showing this year but we’ve been bored and we are all over winter at this point now. Is anyone fully 100% ready you ask? Absolutely not 🤦‍♀️😂 but you have to get out at some point.

I’ve been building back a better relationship with Max our new partbred Friesian. Max is super smart some would say too smart even. It’s been let’s say interesting.

That’s ok it takes time to really learn and hold a solid connection. Both Max and I have been working on our summer bodies but we aren’t quite there yet, so it’s time to rip that baindaid off and see how we both fair this weekend.

A personal goal I gave myself and my own horses is to not set such high goals of perfection like I always do. My goals for them this year is to have well rounded rides and allow ourselves to feel good about that regardless of placings. I put not only myself but my horses on such high pedestals sometimes it’s completely unrealistic for both of us. It’s caused a lot tears at home later from shows and that’s just silly.

So here’s to a solid 2025 show year with what we feel are exceptionally talented, smart, and athletic horses! We have 5 of our own competing this year in breed shows, open shows and dressage shows.

As our motto states we are small but we are for damn sure mighty 💪🏻

Pictured is Max waking up from sedation after his teeth were done last week. His look is priceless.

We will see you all in the giant sandbox soon!

It was that time of year again! As always a HUGE thanks to Roger Kelsey our expert equine dentist for always keeping our equines teeth in top shape! He did only 8 horses today but I’m sure he was ok with that in these kind of temps!
We’ve been using Roger for our horses teeth for years and he’s done an amazing job every single time!

Remember it’s so important to have your horses teeth floated yearly regardless if you ride or not. It’s so important for their health!

We thought we’d share a little story called “Petra”

This mare was seen by myself years ago and the very minute my best friend MaryEllen rode her into the arena I was enamored and my mouth hit the ground. Some horses truly have a great impact on you without you even owning them.

I knew from that moment in time I wanted to own my very own registered Black Clydesdale. I made that wish come true through hard work and that specific mare took me to World and Nationals and filled an entire room with trophies, flowers, neck ribbons, and more.

I loved Petra so much I asked my very best friend if she would be willing to breed her so I could obtain another dream horse (enter Balerion my partbred Friesian)

So while this gorgeous specimen is not owned by us she sure has made quite the impact on us. Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration from something that pulls at those heart strings.

Sweet Petra enjoys retirement at home in Indiana with my wonderful best friend MaryEllen who we are forever grateful for. 💕

We love our barn kitty’s and for the longest time we’ve always wanted to get them a jungle gym within their jungle gym 😂
Now they might not lounge on it yet as we haven’t the space in the heated tack room for it (where they all hang out during winter) but we are guessing once spring and summer arrive they might enjoy it ☺️ better. Every animal on our farm is important to us and is spoiled with love and care. They all give us joy and happiness in our day to day so it’s important to us to ensure we give them our very best along with spoiled unnecessary things such as a giant cat tree house 😂

I had a wonderful inspiring day being among some great folks. I’ve chose to really focus on what is aiding myself and my horses to be happy in our work. I’m a perfectionist which is a heavy burden I have carried my entire life and one I battle with regularly in everything. While we all know in horses this is most difficult to be. No one is perfect not even our horses. So you understand the struggles I contend with on a day to day. I have trained this big grey of ours for close to 6 years and it’s been challenging and rewarding with a lot of ups and downs. We have taken 10 leaps forward and 20 back at times it seems. While I’ve never given up on this big gelding, I have had very down days with him. Even many embarrassing moments that keep me humble within my work. We have trained many hours/days/months/years together to strive for stability and partnership in our horsemanship. Sometimes in order to stay grounded you must take all the bad with the good. Make new plans and goals, meet new trainers and people that have maybe different perspectives of what you see. Nobody told me life would be easy and certainly no one said riding horses would be a breeze, otherwise everyone would be doing it. And I’m not lucky or blessed as much as I say these things in my head. What I am is dedicated to educating and learning. Committed to staying open minded. And faithful to my partner in listening when he talks. In the end and only then will we both feel harmonious in our own perfection.
I am thankful such an athletic horse allows me to be is partner.

Remember when we were kids and hopped on our ponies bare back and connected the lead rope to the halter and rode them up to the barn. Well I kind of reminisced on those days tonight with my 3 year old. Except we just putzed around in the indoor. Sometimes it just feels right to strip away the rules and live. I had lots of laughter and smiles and enjoyed the warmth of Balerion. It’s good for the soul. 10 out of 10 highly recommend 😉

Great job today Lynn! We are starting to incorporate Max into our lessons, he’s enjoying the extra attention and love! Lynn did a fantastic job with him today. It’s pretty chilly but I’ve got some diehard students that’s for sure!

We had thought we would have to board Easy because the mud is not good for her hooves and legs but my husband knew how sad I’d be not being able to see my girl daily so he is determined to help me make sure she can go out on an all weather pad. The weather currently though and for looks like the next couple weeks in Easys favor with bitter cold and lots of snow. Her legs look fantastic again. My students are equally happy she didn’t have to leave as well as I have several that adore her.
It was chilly this morning but Ava stayed warm inside. We did a ton of trot work to stay warm 😊

Getting back to lessons helps this old girl feel young again. Great job today Ava!
