There are no days off when you own a farm, animals still need fed and cared for, arenas still need drug, horses still need rode. While we no longer board horses anymore be sure to thank those that are taking care of your horses. Help out by picking a stall, watering a horse, or bringing one in from a field. All of that goes a long way with barn owners.

We want to say a big thank you to all our farm owner friends for all your hard work! We see you!

Time off from show season does a body and mind so good for our equines. Fat, fuzzy, and muddy but all are so happy. It’s important to us that we always put the horse first before our own desires and wants. Our team will be ready to start back first of the year but for now this is their vacation. We may not think that these cold weather days are much of that but to our team it’s blissful 💕

News Update!

We are closing our doors to boarding horses beginning of the year!
For 11 years we have stayed true and strong to the industry and it’s time to hang up that hat! We are so incredibly excited if we are quite honest about it. The boarding business is incredibly tough as many know! We will ONLY be taking in training horses from here on out and instructing. Thank you to so many that have come through our barn doors over the last 11 years! We appreciate you all!

We are so excited to bring home our 2nd Highland Steer! Half brother to Charger, meet Chase! His horns just barely present. He is a standard size Highland because we do nothing real tiny around here! 😂 we want to thank the wonderful breeders (The Adams Family) for once again producing a really nice cow! Who knows maybe you’ll see even more Highlands on our farm in the future! We have grown to love and appreciate this breed in particular. Friendly, easy going, and low maintenance. Who doesn’t like the sound of that! 😉

The matriarch of our farm headed the Holiday in the City parade last night in Springfield.
Our beautiful 19 year old registered Clydesdale mare (Easy Spirit of Garr Dell) carried our beautiful vis a vis carriage with the beautiful Clark County Fair Queen through downtown. We couldn’t be more pleased with how well our girl did with all the Christmas hustle and bustle of downtown.

My last training horse leaves next week and I’m very overdue for my long awaited break 😊

Ed has come so so far from when he was first brought to me. Leaps and bounds and is ready to start his new journey with Jenny 💕 thank you so much for trusting me with his care and training. I’m incredibly proud of this horse. He’s still a young horse but he’s made a positive impact for sure! Thanks to our great feed program his hair coat is still shiny even filthy 😅 we wish Jenny all the best in her endeavors with this handsome registered 4 year old Shire, the future is bright!

I already have a great lineup of amazing horses heading our way for training in 2025! I’m still training but are not taking on as many as I have in past years. My heart unfortunately will be a bit more guarded going into the new year but do not want to quit what my passion truly is. If you are interested in training please pm me. I only take draft or draft type breeds for riding or driving. I will have new rates going into the 2025 year so please be aware.

What a fantastic 2024 year it was for lesson students! Wow so many great kids and adults! We want to give a huge huge thank you to all this years students. Some have moved on and up from us but we are so glad we could be that stepping stone into the big world of horses! We are so proud of everyone and all their accomplishments this year. If I missed anyone, my apologies there were so many. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2025!! Always remember you are awesome!

First night in awhile this year the barn doors are shut. Everyone has gorgeous thick winter hair this year so we’ve been able to leave the doors open overnight AND it’s truly been very mild weather. Welcome back winter! My fingers were froze and I have a feeling I’ll be plugging those tank heaters in in the morning. But it’s so nice to check in on the horses from my house on such a cold, blustery snowy night. Clean, cozy barn with happy horses tucked inside. We hope everyone stays warm and dry this coming winter. We’ve had such mild weather, Mother Nature just might bring quite a force of winter this year. But we are all ready here at RTF. We say it every year but we are so blessed and thankful we built an indoor arena years ago. It truly makes a difference through these hard winter months.

We only have 1 stall available for someone who would like to work their board off. If you’re that person let us know 😊 stay warm and dry this winter with us!

We have 1 to 2 stalls available for full or partial care boarding in Jamestown Ohio. We are a small private equine facility that offers a lot of great amenities for you and your horse.

Extremely clean barn with stalls cleaned daily. Pastures and dry lots. Hay given year round 24/7. Indoor and outdoor shower pads, heated tack room, and a well run and organized farm. Feel free to pm for more information.

Continuing with no stirrup November Amelia wanted to try ba****ck today and who am I to tell a kiddo that wants to try new adventures no. We thought it best to use Te for our first trial instead of one of the drafts 😉 she did great!!

Today was level the indoor arena sand day! As many barn owners know after so long the sand builds up on the sides, horses track it in and out of the building, and hay gets tracked in and on my arena floor (pet peeve of mine)
We no longer are allowing horses to be tied in the indoor and will eventually be putting in a patience pole on the property 😉

I thought I was getting photo but apparently I hit video 😂 Jen came to visit her baby Eddie 💕 today and ride. He was so great for her. We have prepared the big guy as much as we could for his very first show this weekend 😊 from bucking bronc to laid back horsey citizen we are super excited to just get this guy around the pen. If we come home with 0 ribbons we could care less. This big guy has come a full 360 from the beginning. He’s more relaxed under saddle than he’s ever been. Beyond proud of him.

Oooo how excited are we for Ed! Because Eddie has come along so smoothly in his training it’s time to see what this big guy can do AND with a new rider……….stay tuned!

Huge shoutout to Preston Boggs with Rock Solid Concrete! Great team of guys who did outstanding work! They put concrete down for our new indoor shower pad (we still have to complete it) our breezeway between our barn and indoor arena to help keep the barn cleaner when going to and from the indoor and a patio by our house! This barn was a dump when we purchased it with many problems and it’s taken us years to really fix a lot of issues and really start turning it into a great equine facility. We turned it into a 10 stall barn (nice even number) and then have an additional smaller barn for 2 horses with a run in. We will definitely be seeking out Preston again for further concrete needs! Highly recommend!

Who is continually proud of this big guy?! We are!! Ed’s first ride outside in the arena and with other riders! Fantastic! Oh yes don’t mind those goofy kids making funny faces at Eli 😂 Cough, cough Peyton 😂

We sure are going to miss Sam so much. He was a little unsure of the clippers in the beginning when he first came and now he could care less. As I stated in my video, carrots always help 😉 He’s been my favorite horse to ride these past couple months. Going to miss our time together but his mom sure is excited to get him home. Thank you Roseanne for allowing me to love, care and train your amazing Clydesdale! He’s one very special guy 💕
