Sassy came to us originally with Tabby (adopted), when they were abandoned in a house together with several cats. They were adopted together by a loving family, but unfortunately, Sassy had to come back, as she started attacking Tabby and the other female dogs in the home. Both Sassy and the family were devastated. Fortunately, Sassy has had a very short stay back with us, only having been here for about a week, before she found her new forever home! She’s the only dog in the home, so she’ll be super spoiled! She does get to have a couple feline friends, though, which we’re sure she’ll be thrilled about (she loves cats)!

Congratulations, Sassy-Sassafras! Live your best life, beautiful girl! We will miss you! 🐶💕

COURTESY POST:

“Scooby is a 7-8 year old beagle mix. It sounds like he’s neutered & up to date on vaccinations. The previous owner could no longer keep him due to medical reasons. It sounds like he was adopted from Souris Valley Animal Shelter about 3 years ago, but they don’t have the space to take him back at this time. My brother is currently taking care of him, but we’re trying to find a forever home for him. I'm not sure how he does with cats. His previous owner lived on a farm with no other dogs. When I brought my dogs to my brother's house to see Scooby, he did pretty good. He kept trying to hump all of the other dogs, but not sure if he's just anxious. He seemed a little protective of his toys, and my brother has mentioned there could be some mild food aggression near other dogs. My brother's not sure how he does around children either, but I imagine he would be fine with kids. He's a pretty relaxed dog. I feel like a lot of the behaviors my brother has been seeing are due to anxiety because he was just recently dropped off at my brother's house from his previous owner that he was with for 2-3 years.”

If you are interested in Scooby or have any questions, please call 701-303-0264!

COURTESY POST:

“She is about three years old spayed. She will have Rabies, distemper and kennel cough vaccinations this afternoon. I will have all the paperwork for that. I do not know if she gets along with cats, but she does not do well with little dogs but is good with dogs her size or bigger. She does great with kids. She is a jumper but has not jumped the fence in over a year and a half. She is potty trained. She loves to run and play tug of war with her toys. She is also a huge cuddler and loves to give kisses. She is kennel trained but is not the biggest fan of it (what dog is). So we do kennel her when we leave the house.”

The community of Jamestown and all supporters of JRHS are awesome, we appreciate you all SO MUCH!

That being said, we are overrun on blankets right now, and have no more room in storage to hold them. Currently, we ask that no more blankets be donated - we will make a post when we will be accepting them again! We will be going through what we currently have and reaching out to other rescues/shelters in ND to see if they can be of use to anyone else. Thank you all so much for caring and loving the animals that we care for on a daily basis! ❤️🐶😸

COURTESY POST:

“Hi my name is Samson, I am a high energy dog! I love to play and run around like a maniac. I'm very attentive to my own so sometimes I don't pay attention to what's behind me and knock things over. I play well with bigger dogs. He does have accidents in the house if not kept on a strict schedule and let out often. He does tend to whine for long periods of time if he doesn't get his way or is put away from his human connection. He may have some anxiety. He is neutered he just ran out of currency in vet shots but had them done last year in April. He would do much better with older children at least 8 and up. He would love to be on a farm and we are guessing he is about 6-7 years old. We are already his 3rd rehoming. The first owners I believe where abusive the self neutered him like a cow(ball tying) is what my boyfriends mom found out. They asked my boyfriend's brother to watch him and he was like sure and they dropped him off and never came back and got him after the year we ended up getting him. Before that handed up hiding in the kennel almost 2 to 3 times a day p**p or p*e like he thought that's when he was supposed to go potty he used to destroy a bunch of things so we have had extreme progress with him. Just sort of circumstances of being pregnant and having a 15 month old. Plus living in an apartment. We no longer have the time to take him running like he needs and to continue that behavior work which I feel he'll need the rest of his life more than likely or the consistency. We have had him for the last 3 years now. Is super cuddly loves butt scratches and will do a leg dance.”

If interested in Samson, please message us and we will get you in contact with his current owners!

UPDATE: Bronson has found a new loving home! Thank you all for your shares!

COURTESY POST:

“Male Bronson 7 or 8 years old Pomeranian, he really doesn’t like people in general to be honest, but yeah, he’s very reserved and he has to get used to people he doesn’t like cats or dogs but gets along better with dogs. He has all his shots. He owes around the house even tho he has been outside. He listens to commands he sits and shakes and high fives. He is playful, he also barks at everything. He only likes to be petted or touched when he wants to be. He will grow or try to bite if he feels threatened but when he gets used to you he does better. I’d recommend not having little kids around him because he is very skittish.”

If you are interested in Bronson, please message us and we will get you in contact with his owner! Sounds like some training with a dog trainer may be beneficial if interested in him.

COURTESY POST:

“Meet Kota—a sweet, 10-year-old farm dog who’s been a beloved part of our family since she was a pup. Kota is a 40-pound, friendly and active girl who’s full of personality and love. She’s in great health, has been well cared for her whole life, and comes with her heartworm and tick prevention (Heartgard and Nexgard) for the rest of the year.

Kota loves people and does great with kids, but she does have a few quirks. She enjoys digging (she’s a bit of a backyard remodeler) and she tends to run over to the neighbors’ property and chase their chickens. Because of this, she’s usually kept on a leash or supervised when outside, and she would do best in a home without small animals or free-roaming livestock.

Up until recently, she got along fine with our other dog, but our German Shepherd has started showing aggression toward her. We’re now concerned for Kota’s safety, and it breaks our hearts, but we feel the best thing for her is to find a safe and loving new home.

Kota sleeps in a kennel in the garage at night, is not spayed, and would do best as the only dog or with slow introductions to other pets. She’s affectionate, loyal, and just needs someone with time, space, and love to give.”

If you are interested in Kota, please contact Kevin at 701-710-0504.
