Tulip is looking for, ideally, her new forever home, but a foster home to get her out of the shelter would make her EXTREMELY happy, as well.
Tulip is very sad at the shelter, having been surrendered to JRHS by her owner. Unfortunately, where her owner was living had some breed restrictions, and while Tulip is in no way a “Pit Bull,” (she’s an American Bulldog/Boxer mix), she was still discriminated against, poor thing 😔. While her most recent home was very loving, she had a pretty rough start to life, with her original owner from down in Oklahoma having been murdered (per the story given to her adopter).
Tulip is now 7 years old and looking for her forever home, with someone with experience handling large, strong dogs - she may not look it, but she’s close to 90lbs.! She is great with women and children, but very wary of men. She has come around and done well with men in the past, it has just taken some time, love, and patience. She is good with cats, but would prefer to be an only dog in the home. She is pretty reactive towards other dogs, but has never actually attacked or bitten anyone, (humans nor dogs).
She is potty-trained, crate-trained, and loves snuggles and kisses. She LOVES going for walks, playing with her toys, and just being with people in general.
