The quickest way to pull old woven wire out of the ground!
The horses all got to take a turn playing in the new sand in the round pen. Here's Storm and Scooter tearing it up!
Tried to get some pictures of the babies last night but it was a challenge with these two wanting a close up! Best I could do was this video.
Gilbert strongly considered joining the mares at the trough for dinner. He wisely decided against it.
It's so nice to have things cleaned up after winter!
And helping her get around the panels. Obviously the border collies are a little more enthusiastic about moving horses.
Our heeler, Brit, has never had any interest in livestock or work of any kind. (She prefers to keep the couch in place) However, she loves the babies. Tonight she helped gently and calmly move the new foal to and from the round pen.
It was a little too chilly for outside play time for the baby today, so he got to try out the indoor. He was a little unsure of the new space at first but decided it was a pretty good spot to stretch his legs!
Had to take advantage of a little sunshine and get the baby out to stretch his legs. He was done with the zoomies by the time I went to take some videos.
I didn't turn on all the lights so it's a bit dark, but Sebastian and his sons had a good time last night playing out of the mud in the arena.
Who knew the box blade would work so well to clear the ice and slush out of the yard?! We were able to clear it to make it safe to take the horses that were in the barn over to the indoor arena for exercise as their outdoor pens are still skating rinks.
What a mess this ice has made! This morning we poured a bunch of ice melt from the pasture up to the stock tank. It's so slick there was no way a horse could get up to get a drink. Then we back-dragged it after the ice broke up a bit and got a fresh bale of hay out to the horses.
