Lou is an approximately 9-year-old female schipperke. She is spayed, microchipped, and healthy. She gets along with people, cats, and other dogs. She is approximately 10 lbs. Quite petite. Someone asked me recently why I’m messing around with Rescue. I honestly believe that every horse deserves a chance at finding their forever person. Updates like this with Miss Bell makes me very happy. This is why we do this.

There are only a handful of kennels available for dogs at the Bonita and Carlsbad shelters, according to the Department of Animal Services.

Some time ago, before the SoCal Rescue was formed I placed Quimby. He came back to me through the microchip after being found in poor condition running the street. Poor thing had chewed his coat off literally, covered with fleas. He was found almost bald with hair in his teeth. His owner had rehomed him when he went into assisted living. He was one of the reasons for forming the Rescue. Anyway, I digress. 😇 I received this photo from his new mom about how well he is doing. To see him glowing with health and with such a happy expression makes all the effort worth it. Thanks for the follow up photo, it made my day.
