Meet Shelby! Shelby is a young Great Pyrenees…

We are estimating her to be around 9-10 months old. She does good with kids. We have not tested her with dogs or cats but would be happy to do so here at the shelter.

She was not raised around livestock.

If you are interested in meeting Shelby she will be available starting Thursday 7/25/24.

If you have other dogs and are interested in adopting Shelby please feel free to bring them to meet her.

Meet our bonded pair Maxton and Momma 🐾

They’ve been fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped!

We would love to keep them together as we adopted them out separately and they got depressed and refused to eat when they weren’t together.

Our adoption fee is $20.

In June, the Pickens County Animal Shelter announced a month-long adoption event being sponsored in memory of one of our most beloved supporters, Paula Bowker, who passed away in 2019. We wanted to share the results of this successful event, and we are thrilled to inform our community and supporters that 20 dogs and 8 cats found their forever homes! A total of $1,510.00 in adoption fees and $388.27 in medical treatment costs was donated in memory of Paula!

If you are interested in sponsoring adoption fees to help us in our goal of finding forever homes for any of our shelter pets, please reach out to us! A special thank you to all the staff at the Pickens Animal Shelter, our supporters and volunteers, for working tirelessly on behalf of all our amazing pets!

Found dog off Whitestone Road. She was going between Whitestone and RavenCliff area. She was right on the Pickens/Gilmer line so please share in both areas.

She is safe with a foster. Our amazing foster has her set up in her own birthing suite so hopefully she can relax and have her puppies in a safe place!

We are overloaded with puppies and could use your help with some supplies!

Items we are currently low on:
•Teething toys/chews for puppies
•Puppy pads
•Puppy food (any brand wet/dry)
•Puppy playpens

We are always in need of towels and small fleece blankets 🩷

If you’re interested in fostering or adopting any of these babies please come see us Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm or Saturday 10am-1pm.

We still have lots of little kittens as well but you guys were amazing and really loaded us up on kitten supplies!

Don’t forget we still have our raffle going on until 8/9. Tickets are $2 each. All money raised will go directly toward the treatment for our 3 heartworm positive dogs.

Here are just a few of our adorable and available pets we have here at the shelter!

All of our pets come fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative, and dewormed (if needed).

Who wants to help us save these three beautiful dogs?

FayFay, Moon, and Eclispe all came to us heartworm positive. The treatment for these dogs is roughly $2500.

We have an amazing community and have been gifted these beautiful baskets to raffle off over the next 30 days to help raise the funds for their treatment.

Tickets are $2 each. You can bring cash to the shelter or Venmo Partners of Pickens Pets then send any of the shelter staff a screenshot of your payment confirmation along with which basket you want to enter.

We have 5 adorable puppies that are ready for foster to adopt 🩷 Mom is a wire hair terrier mix, dad was a shih tzu mix.

🌼Miss Molly, is perfect just the way she is! Molly is one of our longest residents. Molly is looking for her forever home, she does not get along with other dogs. But, absolutely loves little kids. So very gentle, and just wants to be loved on constantly.

We LOVE pupdates! BEAR, formerly Drake, an adorable pup adopted by Ashley and family in May, is living his best life! Yesterday, he went to the annual closing of the Aquatic Center. ROGUE - Making his comeback stronger than his setback! ROGUE is back, no fault of his own. And now he is on the hunt for a new family. He would like a family who has time for him, will play fetch with him, throw a frisbee, take him on walks, continue with basic training and social skills and just love him like the companion dog he is destined to be. We'll put some cute Rogue pics in the comments since FB won't allow both in one post. ROGUE is a big, solid, handsome boy, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
