OMG, what an amazing rescue! Saw this in a news feed this morning. This man's dog somehow ended up in the frozen lake and couldn't get out. When he went to try to rescue the dog, he got stranded as well. This amazing team of rescuers saved the day!

We worked on sit, down, stay, drop it, leave it, watch me, touch as well as coming when called and walking nicely on leash using only positive reinforcement methods! Congrats are in order for Buffy on the left and Bekes (with "mom") on the right for earning their NOVICE TRICK DOG title! Tricks classes make training fun and builds a great bond with your dog. Some of the tricks these two dogs learned include jumping thru a hoop and over a bar, running thru a tunnel, shake, spin, kiss, push-ups ... and more! Luvk9s will be starting up another round of tricks class on Saturdays starting Jan. 11 at 3:30 PM. Would love to have you in class!

Congratulations to the two and four-legged students of my first CGCU (Canine Good Citizen Urban) class. All four dogs passed the ten requirements to earn this title. Some of the interesting tasks they had to complete included riding an elevator, doing a 3-minute down stay inside a dog-friendly building while either eating or shopping, and being able to navigate walking thru a crowd and ignoring humans. We had a great time in downtown Ball Ground, going to the Outlet Mall in Woodstock and visiting The Mill at Etowah in Canton. We found there were lots of dog-friendly indoor opportunities to work with our dogs.

GREAT JOB Andy the Corgi, Emma the Golden Retriever, Sky the Border Collie and Tailwind the Vizsla!

Luvk9s is offering a new class this time around - the URBAN CANINE GOOD CITIZEN, or CGCU. This class works on your dogs skills out in public. See brochure for more info,

Classwork will be done in downtown Ball Ground, The Mill @ Etowah (Canton), Home Depot and downtown Jasper for starters!

Classes meet on Saturday at 3 PM starting Oct. 19. We will meet 5 times. Let us know if you're interested!

NIKE is one of several students who just recently earned their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certification. Congrats, NIke!

Congrats to the latest group of students who successfully completed BASIC class! (Luvk9s is starting up two more BASIC classes this upcoming week. Friday class starts Oct. 18; the Saturday class starts Oct. 19. Classes run from 9 - 10 AM for 5 weeks. Contact us for more info and to register! These classes end the week before Thanksgiving - perfect time to take an obedience class (or refresher course) with the upcoming holidays!

Just wrapped up an Advanced CGC class (CGCA). These 4-legged students had wonderful handlers and worked really hard to achieve this milestone. Several classes were held "off campus" at Home Depot in Canton and Jasper and Sackkets Western Wear in Jasper. CONGRATS TO ALL!

The CGCA (advanced CGC) builds on the skills you learned in the CGC class. It's a great refresher course if it's been a while since you earned your CGC. We plan on offering the Urban CGC class later this fall - this is the next class after the CGCA. Stay tuned!

PUPPIES! Who doesn't love puppies? Meet the latest group of puppies that finished up puppy class this past Saturday. In addition to working on AKC STAR PUPPY PROGRAM items like sit, down, come, and walking on leash, we also had time for enrichment activities (noseworks and agility) and socialization (puppy play time). We'll be offering another round of Friday and Saturday puppy classes starting Sept. 6 and 7 at 11 AM. COntact us for more info!

Congrats to Lucy and Nike for earning their NOVICE and INTERMEDIATE TRICK DOG titles!

We will be starting up another trick class Saturday, Sept. 7 at 3 PM at Ball Ground Hounds in Ball Ground. Contact us if you're interested. If you're looking for something fun to do with your dog, this is the class for you! This is also a great confidence builder for shy dogs!
