We need everyone’s help!!
This morning, NYCHA employees found an injured Shih Tzu mix thrown down the garbage chute of the 17-story building, address 180 South Street, in NYCHA Smith Houses in lower Manhattan. Apparently, a resident at 180 South street had thrown the dog down the chute which leads to the basement compactor. The dog is injured and shows obvious signs of long term neglect. Police retrieved the dog.

MEMPHIS is a typical Vizsla, very sweet and cuddly. He is fun and energetic, yes a Vizsla
through and through. This intelligent and affectionate boy is 5 years old (DOB 4/10/2019).

What we need and require for MEMPHIS is a very special dog savvy, Vizsla experienced
family. He needs a quiet home with adults only, where he ideally should be the only pet.

Unfortunately the original family of Memphis did not have the knowledge or experience to handle such a sensitive breed. Certain interactions caused fearfulness in MEMPHIS.
When his fear caused him to be hesitant, his handling family resorted to more pressure, both physical and verbal. It was not understood that they were exacerbating the fear.

Our wish is for a single person who works from home, or a couple who will make the commitment for a substantial length of time to help MEMPHIS decompress and recover from his past expereinces. He will not do well with social activities like going to cafes, farmers markets, or parties. No dog parks!

Please note that there is a huge commitment from his original rescuers to help with this
extended training. Memphis has their dedication and ours, plus the ongoing request
to continue to work with the professional behaviorist who has given an extensive evaluation of what MEMPHIS needs to succeed. This behaviorist cost is handled by original rescue. We know there is the perfect home for MEMPHIS. We just have not found it yet. Could it be you?

Great news!
Gemma is heartworm NEGATIVE! She got all checked out today and will be spayed next week. She is 13.5 lbs and 5-6 yrs old.

Later today Nemo has a vet appt to have his heart and cough accessed

WE STILL NEED A FOSTER FOR GEMMA! Someone willing to take her outside in a leash for a few days and stay with her. Someone who is patient and willing to just let her be until she comes to you. She already wants to sit in my lap but she’s overwhelmed at the loud kennel house.

George is still looking for a mommy or daddy to spoil him the way he deserves.

He is 14 weeks old and such a good boy. He listens well, is crate trained, working on his housebreaking skills, comes when called, sits and goes into his crate on command.

George loves to run and play and wrestle with his doggie friends. He has a lot of energy and will need some who wants an active dog. He will require a privacy fenced yard or someone who loves to walk or hike to wear him out. He would do great with another dog or doggie daycare too!

George also loves belly rubs and snuggles too! For some reason he also loves to lay in the empty bathtub and chew on his toys 😂. I think he enjoys the security of them but being stolen by the other dogs. 😂

Let’s find George a home before he get bigger and less desirable for adoption! (I hate that phrase but it’s true).
