Mirabel Update!

We potentially have a new sighting of her way outside of St. Anthony. We received a report that a dog matching a similar description to her was seen yesterday just outside of Ferdinand on Monte Casino Road near the interstate. She seemed to be heading towards Highway 162.

This is a long way from the previous sightings we had of her, but she hadn't been seen for so long that it is very possible that she made her way out that far!

So now we are calling on all of the Ferdinand, Santa Claus, and St. Meinrad (and everywhere in between) residents to keep your eyes peeled in case she truly has made her way that direction!

For now, we are still asking St. Anthony residents to keep a lookout in case this dog wasn't her.

Please let us know of any sightings that could even potentially be her, even if it's not in the same area as the most recent sightings!

Edit: She is no longer wearing a harness/dragging a leash...she slipped out of her harness in St. Anthony a few days ago! For those that don't know, Mirabel is one of the 10 dogs that we pulled from an animal hoarding case to help out another area shelter. She managed to escape from her foster on Wednesdays and has been on the run ever since!

It's our second Senior Sunday post of the day...Lita! She might be 11 years old and have sugar sprinkled all over her face, but she's still got that puppy look!

She has been with us for a while now, and before that, she was at another shelter...and even before that, she was neglected outside in a crate with no food, water, or shelter. We have no idea how long she was living that life, but we do know that when the other shelter took her in, she was skin and bones. Of course, every animal deserves a family to love them and care for them, but this girl deserves someone extra special to help her live the best life a dog can have!

Lita needs a home without other dogs or young kids. Her adoption fee is $0, so visit our website to apply for her!

Mirabel Update: There have been no new reported sightings of her since Thursday afternoon, so we're going on 3 days with no news. Last sightings were in St. Anthony near the community center and near the fire station, and she no longer is wearing a harness or dragging a leash. With how scared this girl is, we are guessing that she is hunkered down in a barn, under a shed or deck, or just somewhere with a lot of good hiding spots away from people.

So how can you help us out? If you live in St. Anthony, check your property for small dog-sized hiding spots...barns, sheds, near wood piles, behind yard decorations, etc. If you see her, she will more than likely get spooked and run away, but at least we would have more information to go off of! If you live outside of the main part of town, still keep an eye out for her. Since we haven't seen her for a few days, for all we know, she could be heading out of town. So if you drive towards or live near Bretzville, Schnellville, or Birdseye, please keep a lookout in case she has traveled!

We already have multiple live traps set up throughout St. Anthony. But more sightings of her could help us find a better location to try to trap her! So if you see her, even from a distance, please please please reach out to us so that we can get this girl safe!

Old boy Ryder has a lot to say! Why? Because it's his very first Senior Sunday post! (Well, that, and he reeeeally loves car rides!) Ryder is the sweetest old man! He loved joining playgroups this week and getting to hang out with the other dogs! His old man eyes will melt your heart, and who can resist a little bit of sugar sprinkled all over that face?

Ryder is a 9-year-old Redbone Coonhound. His adoption fee is $0 until the end of the month, so apply now!

St. Anthony friends...please keep your eyes out for this pup! She has been missing since Wednesday and the last sightings we have had of her were both on Thursday...one near the community center and one near the fire station. We also know that she is no longer dragging a leash as we found her harness and leash in the community center parking lot (she reportedly got the leash stuck under a car tire and was able to slip out of the harness).

We won't give up on finding this girl, but we need your help to get her back! If you see her, DO NOT chase her or try to get her to come to you...she is still terrified of people, and it will make her run away! At this point, we just need sightings of her to help us narrow down better places for live traps. We currently have several placed throughout the main part of town, but since she hasn't been seen since Thursday, she could be just about anywhere.

Mirabel is one of the 10 dogs that we pulled from an animal hoarding case in Evansville, so this is probably the first time she has ever been outside. So everything is super scary. Please keep a lookout for her so we can make sure she gets a chance at a better life!

Amy is so sad 💔.
She got to be loved in a foster home for a few days and thought her stay at DCHS was over. Little did she know she would be going through heartworm treatment and have to return to the shelter afterwards. We loved seeing how happy Amy was being out of the shelter. Tonight, she is just depressed.
Amy is such a good dog. She is good with dogs, cats, and kids. Men are scary sometimes but she warms up quickly. Please adopt this girl. If you can’t adopt, please consider fostering her. She doesn’t deserve to recover from her heartworm treatment in this kennel.

UPDATE: Mirabel has slipped out of her harness and leash. The most recent sightings that we know about were on Thursday near the community center and near the fire station. We have several live traps set up throughout town, but please continue to report any sightings of her to us so that we can hopefully narrow down her pattern!

Original post:
Mirabel is still missing in St. Anthony. There have been no sightings of her. Please share. If you see her do not call for her or chase her. She does have a leash attached. She has never been outside before and she is very scared. We just need a sighting of her so we know where to set a live trap.
Anyone with Ring Cameras in the area, please be on the lookout!
