Recently, Angel and her foster family moved from Texas to Missouri and Angel was such a big help during the move. She even went shopping at the Home Depot, and what a good girl she was! Of course, moving in tiring work, so she needed to snuggle on her soft bed at the end of each day. Angel is a great girl and so ready for a family of her very own. She is approximately 3 1/2 years old and weighs around 50lbs. Angel is great on a leash and loves her daily walks and sitting in the sun and catching some rays. She is a very loving and polite little girl and would make an excellent companion.

Our Onyx, who was until this morning, a healthy 1 1/2 year old pup was having difficulty breathing. We rushed to our local vet where a diagnosis could not be determined. At this time her lungs are filled with fluid and she is receiving oxygen therapy. Once Onyx is stable, she will be transferred to a critical care veterinary hospital. Introducing Pablo!! What an incredible dog he is!! Pablo was brought to our attention by a small rescue in Texas that was overwhelmed by the amount of dogs they had to take care of. Pablo hasn’t lived inside a home for a while, so everything is new to him, from a dog bed, toys, the TV, to stairs and mirrors, it’s all a new experience to this sweet boy. However, he is adjusting so well and through it all he is the most gentle, happy and loving boy. He adores people and loves to sit at your feet, because he doesn’t understand the concept of jumping on the sofa or bed! He loves other dogs and takes cues from his foster sibling on what is ok. He loves his teenage human siblings and follows them all over. Pablo rides great in the car, is quiet as a mouse in his crate and walks well on a harness. He has not been in close proximity to cats, but his placid temperament means that with controlled and slow introductions, he may be able to live with a dog accepting cat. He is an overall fantastic dog that would fit in perfectly with an active and fun loving family. Pablo is up to date on his vaccines, neutered and heart worm negative.

Introducing the incredible and handsome Finn!. Finn is the kindest, gentlest dog. He aims to please. He loves being with you and cuddling. He is smart and learns quickly. He likes the family cat but does follow her and watch her and chases her at times. He would be fine with a cat that doesn't frighten easily. He is great with other dogs. Finn is about 66 pounds and plays nicely with both dogs in his foster home including a developmentally disabled dog who is 50 lbs. He loves to fetch tennis balls and play with toys. He tests snacks out before he eats them, almost like snacks are a new experience for him. He does counter surf and loves slippers but hasn't destroyed any yet!! 😬 He gets VERY excited when his foster family come home even though they are home most of the day. Finn is a loyal and loving companion, if you give him plenty of love and attention he'll do the rest!
Finn Is currently being fostered in the Lake Placid area and is available for adoption.

JUDGE UPDATE!!!!
Judge (now Jude) has been under the care of one of our vet specialty partners for the past 72 hours and is doing great. The good news... Jude has no broken bones or internal injuries. The not so good news... Jude will have to go to the vet every day for bandage changes for an undetermined period of time.
As you may already know, 10 month old Judge was dragged behind a moving vehicle and sustained major injuries. His owner tied him in the back of a truck to bring him to a shelter. Judge fell out of the truck and was dragged behind it, causing severe injuries.
WE STILL NEED FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO HELP JUDE
In the past, cases like this one have resulted in $2,000 to $5,000 in vet bills. Please consider making a donation to help us care for Jude.

Angel is such a fun girl and she keeps her foster family very entertained with her enthusiasm and playful nature. Angel is great in the car and loves going out and about, especially to the garden center and hardware store, because she always gets lots of attention! She also enjoys going for long walks with her foster parents and she is very good on a leash. Angel is a very smart dog and picks up new routines very quickly. Oh and we are still in love with those ears, they are just the best!

Introducing the absolutely gorgeous Hazel!! Hazel is the total package, and we expect to get a lot of interest in this girl. We don’t know how she found herself in the shelter, but life is looking a lot better for Hazel moving forward.
Hazel is good with cats and dogs of all sizes/breeds, and she is as quiet as a mouse in the house. She doesn't and will not get on any furniture, has good manners and doesn’t jump up on people. She is smaller in stature than the average lab weighing in at around 50 lbs, and is great on a leash. She will also let you know when she has to use the bathroom and she rides well in the car. Hazel is friendly and obedient and the staff in the shelter said she knows a lot of commands. Hazel is a little shy still and feels best in her crate, but foster mom is trying to get her out and about so she can adjust to her new life. Once Hazel is used to new people she is friendly and loving. Hazel’s foster mom said she is an absolute dream and has settled into her new home with 5 male dogs with ease.
Hazel is approximately 2-3 years old, heart worm negative, spayed and up to date on her shots. She still needs to get the once over by our vets but we are accepting adoption applications for Hazel.

With their own air conditioned home, frequent visits to the spa (which they love - so much attention) a big yard and pool to play in, Brendon and Gerald, are the ultimate pampered pooches! Brendon and Gerald are typical 4 yr old lab boys who love to run, play, eat treats (did you see the pic of their fall dog cake) and receive love from their humans. Tennis balls are a firm favorite and they can barely be found without one in their mouths. We are so happy that these boys are now living the good life, because it hasn’t always been that way for them.
Both of these boys have recently gone through heart worm treatment and have came out of it healthier and fitter than ever. They take every opportunity they can to play while also learning some basic commands and manners. Their foster mom has been working on walking on a leash which they are picking up quickly since they are smart boys. They are very human oriented and sometimes forget their size; weighing in at around 100 lbs a piece (they are on diet - the cake was a treat). Brendan and Gerald have not lived with cats, but they do see cats at their spa days and don’t bother with them. They love dogs and play well with their foster siblings. While these boys haven’t been around children, based on their love of people, we believe they would love older children. Due to their size and enthusiasm, we wouldn’t recommend them around younger kids.
These boys are brothers, and while we would ideally like to find a home for them together, it’s not essential as they do sleep apart and do things separately. They are different in personality, and foster mom said that Brendon tends to be on the bossy side, with Gerald just ignoring him in typical sibling fashion.

This sweet little girl doesn’t understand why she hasn’t found her forever home yet, because she is just the most adorable pup with a fun and loving demeanor!
From an extremely negligent baby, she has grown into a beautiful girl with the cutest little freckles. Hope only around 30 lbs and we don’t expect her to get much bigger, she is currently upto date on all her shots, spayed, housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash, knows a few commands and is just a total snuggle bug! She’s very curious and adventurous but napping on the couch is her favorite thing! Hope will do great in a home with another dog or by herself. She loves her people and wants to be near them but she also does great in her crate when needed. Don’t let the serious expressions fool you, this girl is a total goofball!

Bailey The Elf arrived early this year and she is so ready for her fur-ever home!!!
Bailey loves belly rubs, running in the yard, splashing in puddles, playing with her foster sisters, fetching tree branches (although she won’t bring them back) and going for walks. She is good on a leash, and ever so inquisitive of her surroundings. She also loves to dig and play hide and seek with her toys!! 😂 Bailey has the best manners and knows not to jump on people. Overall she is a mellow, snuggly and fun loving little girl. Bailey sleeps in her crate all night long, is potty trained, good with small kids, and is not food driven. She knows how to stay, shake and sit. She is a super smart girl and would be a great companion for any family, young or old!!!
