Sweet Miss Jade had what should have been her final FIP lab work today, but her levels weren’t quite where they need to be to stop treatment. She has been on treatment since December 13, 2024. She was one of our ‘wall shelf kitties’ and during all of this 1:1 time her personality has really come out! While she still isn’t one to come beg for affection, she now loves belly rubs while making biscuits. If you have a quiet home and are patient, Jade would love to have a home to go straight to, rather than the Baristocats Cat Cafe with lots of different people and different noises.
Due to the untimely passing of Maverick, we hesitated to put the Jazz kids on social media, until we were for sure that they were going to make it. We've had these little cuties for a couple of weeks, but they were extremely sick with conjunctivitis and URI's. Their eyes are still shut and swollen, but they have showed a lot of progress otherwise. They are starting to play and you can still hear the wheezing, but they are definitely on the mend. Meet Ella (black female), Miles (charcoal grey male), and Mingus (tiger grey male)
Happy 1 week old Maverick
Rocky and Cinder
Rockstar Rocky, 7 weeks into FIP treatment, is taking a break from kitten acrobatics to have some cuddle time with PHPCR alumni, Cinder.
Mac is three weeks into his meds, three weeks to go. Let's keep this train rolling. #macattacksfip
Rocky
When Rocky was diagnosed with FIP on 10/9, he had gone from 6 lbs to 4 lbs 0.3 oz. He was lethargic and we weren’t sure he was going to make it. We are proud to announce that today he has officially gained a whole pound since diagnosis (5 lbs 0.5 oz) and has his kitten spink back! He has full blown conversations with his foster, and curls up with the resident dogs, whether they want to lay down and cuddle or not. He definitely runs his foster home!
Diagnosis
Rocky was diagnosed with neurological FIP on October 9. Just one week into treatment he is able to walk without falling over and has gained 5 ounces! This makes two kitties in our care that are fighting this once fatal disease.
Many of you may have seen Tommy, aka “Over Lord Thomas” at the Cafe chilling ON TOP of our AC unit. We get asked a lot about this shy guy, so we just wanted to reassure you that while he is a shyer guy, we actually specialize in shy cats, and every day he gets braver!!!! We’re sooo proud of his progress, and even when he decided to merely watch us from above 😂😂😅🫣🐈, he is doing an excellent job as Air Traffic Controller!!!!!
When the new volunteer is still getting the hang of the chores……probably no more dish duty for Noodle! (Don’t worry, no dishes nor kittens were harmed in the making of this video. We did get a little wet though….)
This is a great, Mac is playing with toys. Something he has not done since he got FIP. I think the medicine is working!
Meet “the uncles”! Adam, Steve, and Kevin are three fun, loving sweet brothers. They are approx 6 weeks old and are thriving in their safe, healthy foster home where there is plenty of food, toys to play with, medicine if they need it, and lots of cuddles and love.
