Lucy
So a little different video today- this is of a graduation session from our one-on-one lesson package. Lucy got to go to the park and show off her skills today. The Parkers have done a great job practicing with this sweet German Shepherd Dog. Now she doesn’t fence fight/bark or jump on the grandkids either. Congratulations Lucy Parker!
Loki
Ok this video is kinda long but I’m just so proud of the work Loki put in that I didn’t want to leave anything out! Loki is a 5 year old intact male who had some reactivity issues as well as “selective hearing”. He made me work hard to build a relationship with him based on trust and respect. Slowly he built the stamina and desire to learn and has become an amazing partner! I wish I had a video of his first day at the facility and my house compared to now. It’s hard to believe he’s the same dog who didn’t even want me to put his collar on to getting so excited to wear it and go to work! Rock on Loki man!

Dog Training Tip: make training fun! Use lots of positive reinforcement & their toys! #sublimek9training #trickdogtraining #dogtrainingadvice #dogtraining #puppies #dogtrainingtips #dogs #pottytraining #puppytraining # #JeffersonCityTN
Let’s talk about e-collar conditioning!
It is so important to know that you cannot just buy one of these collars and slap it on and start pressing buttons! The dog has to be conditioned to the stim so we can build a form of communication. Essentially, a pressure release system.
We begin by finding the lowest possible number the dog will perform on. To do this we start on 1 or 2 and then continue to dial up in increments of two until we get a reaction out of the dog. Every dog has a different reaction! Here are a few: blinking, twitch of the ear, looking at their neck, scratching at the neck and our drama queens who may even yelp. Once we find their working number we will sometimes go down a notch or two just to see if they are more aware of the stim.
Once communication is formed, your e-collar can be used for all commands and even to correct poor behavior!
Thank you board & train trainee Danny for letting me use you as an example!
Winnie’s mom needed some help with her training- and we quickly saw why. Most of the time Winnie is a soft, sweet little squish but sometimes she’s a stubborn hound who does not want to listen. With lots of structure and repetition as well as fun adventures, this sweet girl realized her potential! She showed off her skills at pickup with her family at the park, even overcoming her love of chasing squirrels. Enjoy your best life Winnie girl- we love you!

PS…. Thanks to my cute little helper😍
Hazel has now joined us for both puppy school and a 3 week Board & Train Program!
This girl is wild & was pretty stubborn her 1st week, until she learned that listening can be fun! She rocked the rest of her program & just look at her now!
We have July Board & Train openings!

Little Finn is ready to head home after a 1 week Puppy Headstart! While he was here he developed a good foundation for his basic obedience commands, and found out he LOVES to work! His mom also wanted to work on potty bells so he can tell her when he needs to go potty. He is now ringing the bells on command so when mom takes him out, she can tell him to ring the bells and soon he will connect the dots and realize bells mean to go out! Good job Finn!

Bones is ready to head home tomorrow! He completed a 4 week Board and Train with us! He was pretty nervous at first, but who wouldn’t be? Once he warmed up he was ready to learn. His parents want to be able to take him on all the adventures they can and wanted to make sure he was reliable and the best he can be. He’s put in the work and came such a long way. He’s definitely gained more confidence too!! Good Job Bones!

Buddy joined us for our board and train program to learn some manners! During his stay he learned all of his commands paired with the e-collar for reliability and proofing!
Buddy is a nervous dog that lives in a busy household so we also worked on a calm mindset and making place his safe place!
(He looks different in some clips because he got groomed before he left!)
