A graduate of Ohio State University, she brings 10 years of prior experience in the medical field before joining vet med! At home, Erin enjoys life with her husband and new baby boy, and their two rescue pups, Ollie and Remy. In her free time, she loves reading, playing with her dogs, and traveling with her family. We’re thrilled to see Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services and Jefferson Parish Library team up to launch Pet Microchip Scanning Stations across the parish! The first station is now available at East Bank Regional Library in Metairie, with six more coming soon. These stations give the public access to microchip technology to help reunite lost pets with their families faster.

While we’re always happy to scan for microchips at our clinic, sometimes the library is just easier - whether it be after hours or because a library is closer to you! Huge thanks to JPAWS for making pet safety more accessible in our community. ❀

Meet our Team: Dr. Maegan's story! A Metairie native, she spent over a decade working at Jefferson Feed before pursuing veterinary medicine. She earned her DVM from LSU in 2020 and worked in urgent care before returning to her roots at Wisdom Animal Hospital in 2024. At home, she enjoys spending time with her family, including their five small dogs—Kiki, Pico, Rigatoni, Pepito, and Orzo. In her free time, she loves scrapbooking and forensic procedurals like Bones and CSI!

We’re a bit late to the party, but we want to officially welcome Dr. Devin Vonder Haar to the team! She is our second full time doctor on staff. The addition of Dr. V to our team elevates our level of care with consultation opportunities (two doctor brains are better than one!), her specialty in acupuncture, and her awesome microbiology skills! Dr. V is patient, kind, and caring with every patient she encounters. She graduated from LSU in 2019, and her passion for rescue work (she volunteered at ARNO throughout undergrad) made her a perfect fit for our rescue-forward clinic. When she’s not hanging out with us, Dr. V goes home to her husband, Ashton, 3-year-old son Spencer, husky girl Laika, and kitties King Louie XVI and Ellie. Have you met Dr. V yet?! When you call to make a TNR appointment and we inform you that the cat must come in a trap this is why! The traps that the JSPCA lends out for the program are the *exact* same size as the smaller cage that the cats shuffle into so that we can safely administer anesthesia medications to prepare for surgery. This is safer for us, for the cats, and reduces stress on all parties in the process. These are TruCatch traps which you can purchase here: https://www.trucatchtraps.com/30-ltd-light-duty but they are *always* free to rent through Jefferson Feed, provided you have a surgery date scheduled. You must leave a card on file for deposit, which they will charge if the trap is not returned. #TNR #themoreyouknow #communitycats
