🐾 This is Midnight! A two year old mini Aussiedoodle! His owner came to us and said he was super fast, with tons of energy and thought some agility training might be beneficial for him. ☝🏼The first thing we had to teach him was luring. Following our hand. Shaping the behaviors we want from him with what he finds rewarding! We’re about 3 lessons in and you can see the progress he’s made with just about everything, especially his confidence. Baby steps matter! 🐶 We’ve been working with Sunny’s off leash training, and today on this quiet trail, we decided to test it! Our Malinois, Mavis, has been trusted off leash for over a year now. Letting Sunny loose is trusting our relationship and ONLY using the e-collar IF she ignores her verbal commands. Her happyness and energy went way up as soon as she earned her freedom! She nailed it. 🐾 Sometimes when we’re training we have to simplify things as much as we possibly can. Mimosa is a very timid dog. We’re here to establish a foundation of confidence building drills while teaching her obedience basically at the same time! 🐾 Here we are starting to shape “Place”. Now just because Mimosa will go on her bed at home, doesn’t mean she will in a strange environment with strangers staring at her - would you? 🍖 So to help her, we show her - with a little motivation! 🤔 You’ll notice how we think it’ll go, till Dakota realizes she’s not even interested in jumping on there, how do we simplify it for her to want to do it? The first pup to use the place bed as a trampoline 🤣 This boy has tons of energy and our job is to establish some communication along with proper outlets for him as he grows. He’s so smart with a great personality. Our day one consists of relationship building, engagement, and free shaping! Murphy is making most of these decisions himself- we just need to show him what’s expected. 🤩 📌 For those new to our page, our day train program is super popular for people close by, or who just don’t want to leave their dog overnight. This allows you to drop your dog off in the morning, and pick up in the evening. 🛠️ Tools - they are only as good as the hands of the person they are in.~ Examples like - a knife in your hand can be used for good or harmful ways- but I use it to cut a carrot & potatoes for soup. A baseball bat, the same thing - can be a tool used to bring a kids dream alive of hitting a home run. In the wrong hands, these tools can also be harmful but that doesn’t stop us from using them. We use them carefully, with knowledge & technique to avoid any hurt. ~ the types of tools we use for dog training: 3ft - 30ft leashes, flat collar, retractable leashes, plastic prong collar, metal prong collar, slip leads, martingales, ecollars.🐶 We only use tools the dog is ready for. It is up to us as the owner (also the trainer) to build the relationship with our dog built off all the good stuff they love like food, toys & freedom. It is also up to us to build a communication system that is clear & consistent between us & our dog. We use those things they love to teach them. We don’t speak dog & dogs can’t speak. But they can understand consistent communication through their equipment & teaching them words have meaning. 🐾 as always - ask questions, please.
