Back in the Spring of last year we told you we had some pretty amazing guests at the park one day and when the time came, we would tell you all about it.

Well, it’s here. That day we had a crew from TLC out featuring a young woman who lives not too far from the park and they were out to chronicle her journey in the hit television show My 600lb Life.

Jacky showed up to the park with some of her relatives and we got to meet one another. We’ve kept in contact since the recording and this month she has a huge milestone in her journey. On the 10th, she’ll undergo the excess skin removal surgery. She could use all of the positive vibes and prayers she can get as I can imagine how anxious she is for this day to come.

I want to say how incredibly proud I am to have watched her transform from a withdrawn young lady into a determined young woman who is chasing her new dreams.

I ask that you keep her in your prayers and send her well wishes for this next step on the journey. Please no negative comments. This takes an enormous amount of courage to expose all aspects of your life and ask for the change you so desperately want and need. It takes even more courage to wake up every day and go after it!

So let’s send Jacky and all of the individuals who are trying to take their lives back all of the well wishes we can.

I don’t know if the park and what it looked like almost a year ago will be featured, but we are so happy for Jacky none less.

Sending you many prayers for continued growth, strength, perseverance, and the change you strive for day in and day out. We will be lifting you up on surgery day!!!

On a serious note, we would like to thank each and every individual who visited the park this year. Our staff and our animals always enjoy the interaction with our visitors and we love to see the park through your eyes and your experiences.

We thank God for allowing us to be the caretakers of some amazing animals and we thank you for choosing to visit them and us this past year. We look forward to seeing you in 2025!!! Until then, be safe ringing in the New Year!

Yesterday was a very wet one indeed, but we are open today and have counted three new baby sheep that were born sometime during the downpour yesterday.

Our gates open at 10:30 AM and we take the last car in at 4:30 PM. We hope to see you and your family members out at the park, and if you’re bringing little ones who desire to do the petting and walk-through zoo, I would certainly plan to wear shoes that are waterproof or ones that you don’t care get very damp. We still have quite a bit of standing water on the ground in places and the ground is still very moist. 

So come on out to 1782 N. US Highway 59 in Jefferson, Texas, and spend a little time visiting some of God‘s greatest creations. 

And YES, we are open New Years Eve and New Years Day-weather permitting 🐾

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the park will be closed today due to severe storms rolling through the area throughout the day. We will resume our regular business hours tomorrow, weather permitting, 10:30 AM until the last car in at 4:30 PM.

We had a visitor to the park this morning. It was camped out on the east side of the park close to Black Cypress Bayou. In the six years we’ve been here, it’s the first time we have spotted one of these beauties.

Lonesome Dove Drive Thru Safari and Sanctuary has just the spot for you. We are offering our adorable Christmas setup at no charge to you and your animal baby for a small donation (whatever you feel called to do). You may donate directly to the park and all of the animals we take in here (numerous species of parrots just this summer) or you may direct your donation to our partner Friends of Jefferson Animals who help hundreds of misplaced, abandoned and neglected animals in the county.

So what are you waiting for? Bring that baby of yours (leashes required and crates for the baby if of another species) to our gift shop over the next week and take a photo with our big reindeer and flocked Christmas tree. By doing so, your donations will go to help countless animals make their way onto our rescue partners up north or out to our park to a new home full of love and care.

While here, enjoy all the park has to offer: Drive thru, petting and walk thru zoo, train, and numerous species in the gift shop. So don’t forget those leashes and come on out!

Santa had a great first visit to the park and HE WILL BE BACK SUNDAY FROM
10:30-5:30 this Sunday. 3 pics with edits for $40 and 6 pics with 6 edits for $60.

Bring the family, bring the kids OR even bring your animal friends as long as they’re contained or on a leash.

We also have the BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL OF 25% off gift certificates of any denomination now through Sunday. So give a gift they can enjoy any time of the year. We also have season passes available. Please DM the page or comment below with any questions.
