Yall this is HUGE! For those of us who have been devastated by the effects of family member with cognitive decline this brings me such HOPE!

Nutshell:

2 groups for 20 weeks:
Group 1 (control group) - standard of care for dementia patient which is medication
Group 2 (intervention group) - only lifestyle changes including:
🌱 WFPB whole food plant based diet existing of veggies, fruit, legumes, nuts, seeds and whole grains
💪 EXERCISE of just walking 30 minutes a day
🙏🏼 STRESS management with meditation/prayer and breath work
🥰 GROUP SUPPORT through zoom workshops

RESULTS in 20 weeks:
Group 1 - continued to decline
Group 2 - 70% got better and it was largely dependent on their adherence. Those who stuck with the program diligently improved the most.

This is just 5 months y’all! People are starting to get their life back and what happens if they stick to it for another 2 years?? I can’t wait to find out what the next phase looks like. The same lifestyle changes that can help with diabetes and heart disease is not surprising that it can help with Alzheimer’s as well 🙏🏼❤️❤️

Spent a huge chunk of the day getting the grow room ready to grow again! The room had become a sort of storage room since I stopped growing last October. This week it will be used for hurricane Milton evacuees but I will be testing my new system while they are here 👏. Stay tuned!

Menu for meal prep this week! I tailor my meals based on allergies and sensitivities but as long as no one joins with a cashew allergy this is the list for this weekend:

🌱 Raw - Carrot Apple salad - citrusy, sweet and delicious, this salad fills the belly and heals the gut all in one!
🌱 Cheesy quinoa topped with roasted veggies - kid approved cashew cheese sauce makes this dish a huge hit with the whole family
🌱 Sweet potato and lentil chili - chock full of veggies for a sweet and savory chili that will keep you full for hours

Raw Tacos on romaine hearts topped with guacamole and raw ranch dressing

Did you know if you take the stems of mushrooms and pull them apart they look like roast beef? 🤯 They also absorb whatever seasonings you put in it. So you can make them like bbq, roast beef or just a yummy seasoning carrier for whatever you are eating. Tonight was teriyaki mushroom veggie rice ramen! 😋😋

I have had many customers reach out asking when I will be growing and delivering again. I have decided to take the year off to increase my knowledge and certifications to develop the wellness side of the farm. It’s more than a farm, it’s a way of life and it’s always been the plan to offer more than super foods. I completed my first certification in Plant Based Nutrition!
