The feels in this image! Trooper LOVES his big foster brother, Kelpie. What would be the chances of these two getting adopted together?

They both are very friendly but not terribly cuddly with people, though they do cuddle occasionally. Both are a bit skittish and scared in new situations. This is from the trauma they both experienced from abandonment and trying to survive as kittens in the wild.

If we could just find that one person, who has a quiet household, that wants to rescue/adopt this pair to give them the safe life they deserve. Is that person out there?

Update: I think I have enough—I’m surprised at how many guys like cats! I will be answering email shortly. Thanks!

My next book is going to be about Michigan men who love cats. If you know such a guy, or if you are a cat-loving guy, e-mail me at: [email protected].

Thanks!

This is disgusting.

Over the weekend, the Quail Creek Hunting Ranch in Okeechobee, Florida, hosted a disturbing event known as the "Swamp Shoot-Out."

The farmstores are starting to advertise and have chicks & ducklings for sale. With that, I've already had calls and messages about unwanted birds brought home. Do not get these domestic animals without research without preparation!!! They're cute as babies, but they're require proper nutrition and housing. In 8-10 weeks, they're full grown, and they p**p, ALOT! They need proper predator proof housing and enclosure! If you don't know what that means, RESEARCH. I am always willing to help with this. These birds live 10+ years! Know where you are going to be. They're are NOT any less important than a pet cat or dog. They have feelings and friendship bonds within their flocks. They're not gifts, there's not something to throw away when you get bored or find out it's a boy.
They're few domestic waterfowl/poultry rescues and sanctuaries out there, and we're overflowing at capacity with often few volunteers or any financial support. We do it because we care; we see them for what they are living beings and sweet, intelligent souls.
Please help educate others and do what you can. Thank you.

Update on Cole the Cat, as the detective on the case continues to get info requests.

As originally stated, a suspect was quickly identified. We plan on submitting charges this coming week.

We have received a boat load of info related to this incident from several independent witnesses. We are working to obtain a bit more video to verify all we’ve been told.

A few other rescues have connected with Cannonsville Critters to put out sighting info & work on finding Cole.

We believe Cole evaded his captor somewhere in the 700 Block of Monroe, near Embassy Suites.

We followed up on a sighting near there, but ultimately, that cat was too skiddish to be caught and looked to have different markings than Cole.

Thanks to everyone who is helping to bring Cole home for Christmas! 🤞🏼

🚨 STOLEN 🚨
Earlier this week, someone helped themselves to the cat enclosure at Pet Supplies Plus on Alpine and stole our kitten, Cole.😭 This is our plea to please return him. Cole has an approved adoption and his family desperately wants to be able to bring him home. We do have video of the theft and are pursuing all avenues to bring Cole home. Our hearts are absolutely shattered at this news. 💔

🙏🏻Please help us return Cole to where he belongs. Contact us if you have any information.

Michigan's Urgent Cats

There has been an onslaught of dumped ducks lately. It's heartbreaking. They will either die a slow agonizing death of starvation and cold or die violentently by a predator or car.
We try to rescue and find safe forever homes for these sweethearts. If you're interested in helping rescue, transport, or daily care of rescues, please send us a message about volunteering. We have enclosure projects we could use help on!
Or, if you can spare a little, we could use donations to help feed the birds this winter!
We have venmo or paypal at
Or our Amazon Gift List.
Thank you so much for you support! The birds need every once of it!

These two handsome but molting kacki Campbell drakes are named Hansel & Gremlin are 1 year olds from last years Sand Lake rescue. They were found abandoned as ducklings in a park by someone walking their dog. They are available for adoption as a pair as they are bonded. Please send a message if you're interested in giving these boys a home. A predator proof enclosure and house are required for adoption .

The traffic this post is getting is incredible. Thank you for all your informative comments. The time to leave barn cats in the acclimation cage should be at a minimum 4 weeks, however longer is always best. It is recommended to feed wet food, something they are not uses to getting. They should associate you with food Relocation of feral cats should come as a last resort. If the cats are in danger at their outdoor home, being targeted by the town etc. It is the last resort. This is a great visual for those who work with barn cat programs. Do not skip this step. This visual will make the difference between life and.....u know
For those who take in barn cats…PLEASE, PLEASE, set up an ACCLIMATION CRATE! I have a feeling that some just get them and set them free…you can NOT do that! They will run off and sad to say…not survive (because you are basically feeding coyotes!) Relocating feral cats is the last resort after trapping and neutering. It is VERY hard on the cats.
